This is the statement sometimes used by those who suport capital punishment, to punish murderers.

Do you personally agree with this statement? Why/why not?

I personally don't agree with capital punishment (mistakes can still be made in regards to who truly commited the crime) but the reason behind the saying is quite logical... you get what you give, a taste of your own medicine.

If found to be 90 to100% guilty I agree, they should die. Why pay to keep them around.
My significant other of 14 yrs. with 9 grandkids had his head blew off and robbery was the motive. They found the shooter after a year,he was found guilty and sentenced 15 to 30. He served 8 yrs and was then released because of over crowding in the penn. The justice system sucks.

An Eye for an Eye

"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.' But I tell you, don't resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also. Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and don't turn away him who desires to borrow from you.

You do have a point. What would you think if your pre-teen daugter and her friend was raped and murdered, and the s.o.b. got out of prison after 6 years? His body washed up on the shore of the river, swimming accident. His accomplice was stabbed and killed while in prison.

The ole Jewish "eye for an eye" deal is a bit outdated. Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek. I guess we must forgive, but I can understand the victims' families wanting the criminals gone from this world.
