It was natural causes.
While the cat was very curious when it was a kitten, it lived through it and then it just laid, sprawled our on the back of the sofa, only getting up to eat. It got older and lazier and fatter as the years went by and lost it's natural sense of curiosity.
It often looked at us like we were only put here to serve it and was often aggravated by our presence.
After many years of this, it past away one night. Yes, I grew up with that cat and I know it died from natural causes.

I have had a few cats in my day an I have been surprised that curiosity didn't kill them, so I believe the story.

I think that in most cases it's either curiosity, or being a little too brave killing the cat. Luv/Kodi
