Why is female circumcision bad?

Those are not done by REAL doctors. The type done by real doctors (which would be considered a plastic surgery, because it is not necessary for your health) is the first example.

They remove the HOOD of the clitoris. Some women have become numb, and say they cannot feel as much because it is there. After having it removed, it is extremely sensative, and will most likely hurt if it is rubbed the wrong way.

The things mentioned in the other answers were very extreme. Women die from this because of unclean areas and doctors who are self-titled. A good, credible, doctor would remove the hood, although it might be discouraged, because the clitoris is left so open and sensative with no protection from clothing rubbing against it painfully.

Really, I'm confused by what your asking. I certainly think female circumcision is much worse than male circumcision and is mainly done as a way to oppress women. That being said, I am also not fond of male circumcision. My hubby is intact and so is our son. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Have seen what some butcher has done to a young girl
Upon having her first period she was taken to a house
held down by 6 older women while they cut out her clitoris & labia minora. with a broken razor blade and a shard of glass. then left to fend for herself in a hut .no pain killers at all. the poor girl could not walk for a week. I will leave the rest to your imagination but lets say she now has no reproductive organs just a small hole to pee out

Why mutilate a woman's body? God or nature gave us our body, maybe its not perfect but most organs have a purpose. The only reason female circumcision is performed is not for health reasons (like male circumcision) but to prevent a woman from enjoying sex, reaching an orgasm, feeling lustful, enjoying life. Who wants to keep a woman tamed? to be sure she does not enjoy sex with anyone? Who but men. Yes, unfortunately women perform it but they are the messengers of men. Until women will not revolt against this barbaric custom and refuse to perform it, it will not stop. I so grieve for these poor women
who suffer because men do not want them to enjoy sex and live a normal satisfactory life.

Generally they are done under unsanitary conditions, to begin with. Then, the removal of the clitoris removes some of the most sensitive nerves on the body. It is extremely painful, and makes future intercourse painful and unpleasant. People actually die from it.

"Booger" is correct. And also, scar tissue may develop where the clitoris was removed or cut, making for painful sex later. Infections set up easily in that area, too. And also, there's no reason for it.

One reason is because it can make it harder for the woman's period to flow out of the body properly. When it stays inside and can't get out it can cause a lot of pain, often very severe. It can cause other complications such as infection.
