my bf is becoming distant. He leaves at night all the time, since i work a grave yard shift i can not join him. His drinking has incressed and his attitude towards life and me is getting worse. Is he lonley? alchoholic? Or mabey he just needs space. I want things to work out but its starting to affect me.

Sounds like me sometimes. Basically it's a phase, re-evaluation of his life. Or not.

Try asking him to take part in a few events with you to bring your romance back. Dinner & movie perhaps? Barbecue with friends over?

Prove to him, that he should be happy with the one he's with. He might need more reassurance!

Well first of all how old are you too? he must just want to hang out with friends just as much as us girls want to just hang out and do girl stuff. Has he ever cheated on you were you might think he is maybe cheating on you ? if he has not then don't worry about it. As far as the drinking goes i have been drink alot this month even though i don't drink all the time it could be just a phase.

well the way i see it is a drink doesn't hurt anyone...as long as he isn't hurting you its ok....if his drinking bothers you talk to him...some people drink because they have some emotional problems or something that they feel they can't tell someone...just because ur not with him all the time doesn't mean he's cheating all you can do is let him know he can talk to you comfortably....and sometimes relationships go through a dull period maybe this is yours its a test of ur love for him if u are willing to help him and understand the relationship will work if not well it s over for u guys

Why don't you two talk about it? There must be some block of time where you're both not working. Couples need to talk about things. It could be something else entirely and not have anything to do with you. Think positive.

Start with the alcohol abuse. Ask him to quit drinking. If he finds he can not, then ask him to get help at AA. If he refuses, then you should get help at either AA, or al-anon. Alcoholics need a power greater than themselves to get their lives back. Do not blame yourself or your efforts if his drinking continues. He will need to reach bottom on his own. Your decision is whether or not to wait til he does.

have you tried talking to him? like, really talking,no nagging. if after you made sure he leaves the house to drink and not to fool around then maybe it's not personally you. maybe he needs to sort things out for some reason, his family perhaps, or work, or even his job. ask him if he wants you to hang around for a bit or he wants to take his own sweet time(minus you) sorting things out. goodluck!

You definitely need to talk to him. Maybe it's all of those things. Or maybe he has found someone because he was lonely and he is trying to push you away by being a jerk.

Sounds like he just started drinking alot, possibly into alcoholism. I recommend counseling for both of you, so they can get to the bottom of it.

sounds like he is doing drugs cuz you said his attitude towards life is getting worse. either that or he is depressed or he feels trapped in a relationship in which he does not really fancy his partner.
