I believe in them. Why not? It certainly does no one harm to believe in them, save for getting laughed at by intolerant jerk-for-brains who can't let people be.
As for faeries being 'spirits in disguise' AND demons, ignore that nonsense. Demon comes from the word daemon, which simply means a guardian spirit or protector; they were the gods of yesterday and have become mainstream religion's villains. Spirits is a broad category that can cover almost any entity that doesn't reside on this plane but usually indicates a deceased soul that can still come back for 'visits.' (As opposed to ghosts, which are usually stuck.)
Go to Europe someday and ask around. Many places there still believe in them. :)
whatever you do, don't stifle your child and tell them they don't exist, especially if the child tells you they see them. It doesn't hurt the child to believe, and if it is just childhood fancy, they'll grow out of it. If they really are seeing fae-things, however, telling them not to believe will force them to kill that gift... and that seems rather cruel to me.

Back where I used to live there was a little legend about the woods behind the apartments. That if you went ou there when the moon was full on a certain day of the year you would the faeries. There were different kinds there were red gold and blue ones I think tehre were also green ones. The red ones would talk to you using a psychich ability and lull you to trust them and fall into an almost sleeplike state then as you sat there they would eat your soul or something like that. The others werent nearly as evil though. Some would steal small trinkets and baubles you would have on you and hang em from the trees. They would hit your tent as you tried to sleep, If you said a certain phraze It was something something I killed the fairy queen so and so and they would mob you and beat you to death. Everynow and then I saw lights in thsoe woods either it was people playing tricks on me using different colored lights or it was the fairys. I also heard laughing and an etherical type of music. So I'm not sure but I agree since there is so many stories throughout the world there has got to be some sort of truth of these.

I do! The stories from folklore whether they are Greek, Irish, or English speak of tiny people, some call them faeries or Pixies, while others call them by another name. With so many stories out there from all part of the Earth, wouldn't there have to be some truth to it?

As far as I know fairies are only spirits in disguise. That means they are demons. Cultures which believe some form of superstition will abound with many tales of such encounters. People in these cultures will inevitably come into contact with them at least once in their lifetime. These encounters will lead to disturbances and subsequent mental problems. Worst still it will lead to full blown demonic possession.
If your 4 yr old ever hears someone calling him or her with a soft voice asking to play, watch out! Advise your child to reject it in Jesus' name.

I think it was in Peter Pan that you had to believe in faeries to save Tinkerbell and that is correct because if you believe in faeries they are there. If you don't they wont be
