Black can be pure.

Look at the darkness in a room filled with silence.

No sound, nothing to see! Just pure darkness, no pollution whatsoever.

Like a clear summer night, the black velvet sky wrapping around everything as far as the eye can see. Enshrouding everything in shadow.

I believe it can be as pure as white is, it's just a matter of how you look at it.

THIS QUESTION IS OFFENSIVE.

THE WHOLE BLACK, WHITE, GOOD, BAD, DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE, ANGEL'S FOOD CAKE IS SICK.

BLACK IS A COLOR, LIGHT REFRACTIONS, SPECTRA, BE HANGED--DISTRACTIONS.

WHITE IS A COLOR.

PEOPLE GET RED WITH RAGE.

THEY GO INTO BLUE MOODS.

THEY GET GREEN WITH ENVY.

THEY USED TO. IN MY CHILDHOOD, SATAN WAS RED.

NOW EVERYTHING IS BLACK THIS, DARK THAT; BLACK HAS BECOME THE UBIQUITOUS WORD FOR THE COLOR OF ALL THAT IS IMPURE, BAD, AND IT'S A BIG, ROTTEN BACKLASH, AND IT'S INFURIATING.

IF YOU READ OLD POETRY, THE STAIN ON ONE'S SOUL WAS RED. HAMLET WORE WHITE FOR MOURNING/DEATH IN ELIZABETHAN TIMES.

BLACK NOW STANDS FOR DEATH. THERE IS NOTHING NEGATIVE FOR WHICH ONE DOESN'T USE THE WORDS DARK OR BLACK.

IT IS PREJUDICE, PREJUDICE, PREJUDICE RUN RAMPANT.

AS A CULTURE GOES, SO GOES ITS LANGUAGE; AS A LANGUAGE GOES, SO GOES THE CULTURE.

WE HAD A CIVIL RIGHTS' MOVEMENT IN THE SIXTIES, AND WE WERE SOMEWHAT SUCCESSFUL--FOR A TIME, A TIME BEFORE ASSASSINATIONS AND THE RETRO SUPREME COURT WE NOW HAVE--AND SINCE THEN, THE WORDS BLACK AND DARK FOR ALL THAT IS UNSAVORY AND "EVIL" AND "IMPURE" HAVE SUCKED UP THE COLOR LANGUAGE OF ALL WRITERS AND ALL THINKERS.

I'LL BET YOU ONE THING, THOUGH:

YOU'D RATHER BE "IN THE BLACK," "THAN IN THE RED."

CAN BLACK BE PURE, INDEED.....

(WHEN MY FAMILY CAME TO THIS COUNTRY, WE HAD TO SIGN IN AS THE IRISH RACE. WE WERE KNOWN AS THE DRUNKEN RACE. CAN THE IRISH STAY SOBER? TRAGIC. JUST TRAGIC!)

Yes it can, just as white can be unsure! It only depends on what they are associated with which defines them. I didn't know why people say black represents bad and white good! White and black are an antagonistic pair! The only way white will appear is if you put it on top of black! It can't show up on its own! Darkness is the path to find light!
Thank you! :-)

I always have the feeling that black is hiding a thousand of pictures underneath. Pictures overlapping, making things mixed up. No, I cannot say that black can be pure.

Black is very pure indeed.

In white you see stains and imperfections. This cannot be seen in black. It depth of colour is like the abyss, all consuming and never ending.

When you close your eyes for peace and prayer. Its the comfort of blackness which warms you. When you embrace your lover, its usually the darkness which caresses your bodies.

Our lives begin and end in total darkness ..............

Our beginning and end is ever so pure.

Personally, black to me IS pure! My deepest, cleanist thoughts exist in the honesty of darkness and silence..when I'm lying there awake at night, alone, I have found tranquility and peace..Black is beautiful! :-)

Well, actually it can't.
Black in fact absorbs all colours of the spectrum but does not reflect any of them.
Then since it is not a single colour it is not pure.
However....
I do have a mascara that says "Pure Black" on it :-)

I believe that black is the purest. It has no other shades for it. It just shines boldly and beautifully. A sight to where any sight can fall in place with perfectly. - Stargirl -
