He said he wanted to save his legs, and not have hard practices.
I think he knew bowen would break his foot, with his dirty
foot defense. SPURs are Dirty! every one knows.
Next year, KG is coming to the SUNs too. He wants to
win a title with Nash.
Suns 2009 NBA Champions..heard it here first.

Well, "style of play" is certainly one of the reasons he gave. You would think someone with a history of ankle surgeries would shy away from a team that thrived on running the court the way Phoenix does. So whatever it was he favored in Phoenix's game over San Antonio's must have been a big factor.
Concerning the "dirty play" issue, every team is accused of this once in a while. The Spurs just seem to get away with it way more than anyone else. Spurs fans will continue to cry "crybaby!" toward anyone who challenges the legitimacy of their championship, but I seldom hear any of them acknowledge when their team gets a huge break--especially Popovich. Do you notice in press conferences how quickly he dismisses any questions that suggest controversy? He'll have nothing to do with it. Pop--every team catches a break once in a while. It's part of the game--it's okay to admit it!
So in my mind, saying the Spurs are dirty isn't the real issue--the real issue is that they're spoiled. Like children, spoiled teams don't realize they are spoiled--not their coaches, not their players, and not their fans. An incredible team, no doubt--the best in the NBA. But I have never seen such a talented team get "babied" through the playoffs the way the Spurs did. I guess the real blame goes to the parents. Bruce Bowen's going to play defense (and offense) anyway he wants to if he continues to accumulate just one foul per game. Heck, he doesn't even get called when he WANTS to foul. Tim Duncan's going to continue to argue that all of his blocks are clean as long as he knows he can provoke a ref and get him suspended. And Popovich--well, I guess he's just smart. If you want the royal treatment to continue, don't admit that you're getting it! So I guess I can't blame him either. The Spurs will continue to be the Spurs as long as the NBA lets them.
Spoiled fans don't realize they're spoiled either. They don't know how to say "thank you" when they are handed a gift (or two, or three). They don't realize that you can still claim to be the best even when you had some help along the way. The Suns organization as a whole acknowledges that they got beat, as do many of their fans. That does not mean they are happy with the way things turned out (what competitive team would be?). Suns fans have a right to be ticked off--they got shafted. And those Suns fans who won't tip the hat to the other team probably are crybabies. Spurs fans have a right to enjoy their championship--their team earned it. But those who downplay the favor they received are just spoiled like the rest of the team. Which brings us back to your question: Maybe Grant Hill's decision had nothing to do with playing dirty--maybe he just didn't want to spend the last years of his career getting babied.

Everyone knows that it's because of the light practices that Phoenix has. There phillosophy is to conserve energy for their up-tempo games.
The light practices will give Hill's body a chance to recover between games. I hope he does well. I'm one of the few people that feels sorry what Hill has gone through the last few seasons as far as injuries are concerned. The injuries have really diminished what could have been a stellar NBA career.
Criticizing the Spurs doesn't change the fact that they won the NBA title so why even bother... if you can't take the abuse, grab your ball and run home to mommy

Light practices + title contenders = Benefits for Grant Hill. Remember that the injuries sustained by Hill was no joke and even though the surgeries have helped to ease the pain he still needs time to rest plus the hopes are high for the Suns to make it so it's a lot better option for him, that is why I think he opted for the Suns contract better than the Spurs.

Since D'Antoni has been the coach of the Suns; the Spurs and Suns have played 24 times (regular season and playoffs).
Out of those 24 games the Suns have won 6 games! Winning 6 games out of 24 is a whopping 25% win average.
Do you think that the addition of Grant Hill, with that ankle that has had 5 surgeries, is going to help the Suns raise that 25% win average against the Spurs?

well grant hill has always been a Mr. Nice Guy but the real reason he signed with phoenix is that the sund practice regimen is very light and it fits grant's physical needs perfectly. D'Antoni believes light practice is good to preserve the players legs for the real game and its perfect for their running game style of basketball.

You sound like another "crybaby Suns fan" to me.........
His reasons were he enjoyed Phoenix's style of play, they are a title contender, and physically light practices since he has been plagued by so many injuries. That's what he said, just thought I would help you with your research so it is accurate.....
