Came back from a 5 day vacation to find several little black half inch worms in my toilet water. The toilet is clean other than a little lime stains.

What are they and where did they come from???

Thanks

I think that it might be mosquito larve!!! They will mature soon so i suggest flushing and cleaning the toilet. Mosquitos lay there eggs in water but most commonly outside anywhere there is water. Oh.. and fly larvae are white.

The worms you see are the larva stage of the drain fly. Psychodidae to be exact. Bleach will kill them.

It doesn't matter what they are or where they come from, just disinfect your toilet with chlorine.
