I think she hates the thought that your going to ruin another young life, like you did hers and then come crying back to her.

First, I'm not sure why your ex has to come to the house to pick up the child support check. You should be able to mail it to her or, better yet, set up an automatic withdrawal from your account into hers. Your bank should be happy to help you set this up. Second, this is a very difficult situation. I don't know why, after five years, this is going on with your daughter. However, I would make it clear that neither one of them is welcome on your property until they can conduct themselves with a certain modicum of respect. There is absolutely no excuse for a complete lack of common decency. I realize this means you wouldn't be able to see your daughter. Make sure she knows that you don't love her any less, but her behavior is both unreasonable and unacceptable. Hopefully, a few years hence, she'll realize what a head case your ex is - maybe even want to move in with you. But since these two people are the only raw blisters on an otherwise tranquil, happy existence, I would automate the obligations like child support, and excise them from your life. She's trying to cause strife, because she can't stand that you're happier without her, and possibly cause problems with your current wife and family.

It doesn't matter that you didn't cheat on her. It's a girl thing, when you leave them and get a younger woman. How we see it is that you left us for a younger model so to speak. Like as we get older you want nothing to do with us, because maybe we aren't as good looking as we were back in the prime.

Its the whole ego thing. In their mind you can never do better than them. I know...my ex was the same way until he met my new man(hubby now) and he freaked out on me...oh well though...life goes on!
