The answer to this is most definitely a no. All three parts of the Godfather Trilogy were based on the life of Michael Corleone. Part one was the setup of how Michael went from the kid who stayed out of the way to the head of the Corleone family. Part two is how Michael ran his family and the struggles he went through to change with the times. Part three was Michael's older years and how he, and i feel Al Pacino put it best, "try to get out, but they keep pulling me back in". Since at the very end of the third part, Michael dies, I find it very hard to believe that they can make a new movie based on what happens to the family. And if you don't believe that it is based on solely Michael, why else would we not know Kay had an abortion until she tells Michael? Mario Putzo wanted to base all three movies on Michael and his views, struggles, and life.

Hopefully not. Talk about spoiling a classic. That's like a Gone With The Wind 2.
Besides it's not like the Godfather got better and better

There has been a lot of talk about this. If there is, I hope it will most likely be centered around where the "family" is now in modern times, with flashbacks to the past (which would include Al Pacino...kinda like how Deniro made it into the 2nd through flashbacks.) I would also like to see Andy Garcia get assasinated in the movie.

They would have a hard time finding the man to take Michael Corelone's position.
