Anything to do in B'ham these days besides football or American Idol...?

I am considering moving back to B'ham after living in ATL for almost 10 years. Is there anything to do in B'ham these days? Will I be bored beyond tears? I am 34 and single... Should I buy a plasma television upon arrival?

There are concerts and some off broadway productions.
Also around southside there are several clubs that have live music from pretty good regional touring bands.And at 34 you should have no problem in that area since a lot of students from UAB and Birmingham Southern as well as Samford University frequent there.
