Same-sex relationships are the same in a lot of respects to heterosexual relationships, but one thing I've noticed is that gay relationships tend to be more equal, since you don't have to follow gender roles (some gay couples do though). As a lesbian I think two woman understand each other more, and know we want more than a man would.

Besides the fact that I can not marry my boyfriend, I feel our relationship has been strengthened by all the opposition we have faced in the local community. Other than that I would say we are pretty similar to a straight relationship. We still quarrel over petty issues. We can annoy each other at times. At the end of the day though I can think of no one I would rather be with.

Most straight couples that I have known just sit and talk crap about their spouse when they are away. To me, it always seems like they are a little less happy. Maybe because gay's have to work so hard to find the person that we want. I don't know

Um, do you mean "other than the obvious?"...(Which includes our genders being the same and the fact that we are not able to legally marry in our home state)

Not at all, really.

We work, we raise our son, we pay the bills, keep the house running, pay the taxes...same ol', same ol'.
