I'm wondering if there is an equation for the density of stars per cubic lightyear dependent on the distance from the galactic center

The maximum star density occurs not in the galactic center, but at the center of globular clusters, where density can reach as much as 1000 stars per cubic parsec. For galaxies, there are too many types for any single equation to work.

Hmm-m. I dunno. How do you count them?

Take five thousand cars (more or less) and turn them all so that their headlights are pointed straight at you on a dark night and begin counting what you can see. Tell me what number you come up with... Can't be done...
