I actually make thank you cards and sometimes Christmas cards and send them to disabled war vets.
We also donate small car and plane models and travel puzzles to them. They enjoying having something to do, especially if in the hospital.

It has been a while since I last worked with Autistic Children , but, in answer to Your question, Yes it was a rewarding and fulfilling experience. It it often good to do something for the community just for the sake of giving something back to society.
