what is wrong about spending $ 1200 dollar on a haircut?
it's his money. he earn it and pay taxes.
advocate for the poor is definitely have to. and $ 1200 could not support the idea (advocate for the poor) it's more complex than that. and it takes the whole people to fight poverty, concept needed.
Phil Collins said when he launch his album ...But Seriously.
he talks about a beggar who come up to him. he said he could help him, making him rich if he would, but it's not that.... it takes more than that...poverty is the new enemy of the world.

The $1200 haircut was when Edwards flew his RICH hairdresser to Atlanta to cut his hair. Normally Edwards pays $1200 for three haircuts, out of campaign funds.

I would have thought a supply sider would see the $400 he pays for a haircut (obviously the point isn't strong enough with the truth so we have to invent the 1200 figure) as a contribution back to the economy that would trickle down to the poor. More so than taking profits off to Dubai so they don't even have to pay any tax.
Are supply siders saying thier theory doesn't work?

Did you ever stop to think that he might have paid a poor person $1200 for a hair cut? That's charity in any league. He would not care for people or the poor if he would have paid .50 cents.

Be cause he believes this can help him get elected president. But who wants a president who is all vanity and claims to be knowledgeable about a subject he really knows very little about? He has neighbors across the street from his mansion living in a trailer park that he won't speak to. He, Danny Glover, and Hugo Chavez have probably had a few conversations about poor people but only to see how much more money they can milk from these same Poor people! He is a complete fake but liberal democrats will go on making excuses for him just like they did for John Kerry. most politicians are just in the race for name recognition. Aren't they silly?

First of all I am not an Edwards supporter and never will be but, It doesn't make any difference. Rich people can care about the poor. Look at Jack and Bobby Kennedy or Princess Diana. You don't have to give up everything you have to help those who have less.

Its his money who cares? You don't have to BE poor to help them out. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are two of the richest men in the world and they are advocates for the poor also. Ive seen people who make a lot less than Edwards, drop thousands in the casino. So?

Its not a lie! According to news on TV today....he did just that!
I do feel that he needs to look his best however that is way to much to spend for a haircut!
He should set an example for all politicians.....and show the people of the USA that he is for the people.

I have seen guys spend $2000 on a set of golf clubs or $1600 on a set of rims for their car. I don't care how people spend their money...I care if they make good policy decisions that affect the country. Anything a person does in his private lives should be exactly private...you seem petty to jump on something that really doesn't have to do anything with you.
Please...don't get me started on what us women can spend some money on.

You don't have to BE poor to be an advocate for the poor!
Of course I, personally, could use $1200.00 to feed my family for the next 12 months. But, who am I to say what the rich should do with their money. Bush doesn't send me any, either.
Who would have the audacity to CHARGE that much anyway??
