I would be on the lookout for the following teams.
This is my AP.

1. Texas
2. Michigan
3. Ohio State
4. Florida

I really like Texas' chances, especially with a strengthened Secondary unit, and QB Colt McCoy at 100%

Michigan really impressed me last year, i believe their only one upset away from making it to the big game.

Ohio State is always a threat, but really i don't like their chances too much... And their beating in the National Championship last year raises more doubts.

Florida is strong, and ready to repeat. Nuff said.

The money is on USC/LSU this year.

USC is almost a lock unless they do something to beat themselves before the bowls begin. The defense is a monster, with the talent across the board. After this year, Booty could make a case as the next great Southern Cal QB. But, his receiving corp need to grow up quickly (they are young). USC's problem: They always pump themselves up for the big games (michigan, Notre Dame, etc), but they need to watch out for the let up against conference foes (UCLA, Wash. St., Cal)...I hate to say it, but they look like they can run the table this year.

Everyone is saying that LSU is only missing a QB. Well, their starting QB is not a young Freshman or Sophomore. Matt Flynn has game experience and has already started big games. But if you only look at the QB, you have missed the strength of the tigers...a stable of receivers and running backs and a defense that is probably unsurpassed. The biggest problem: getting through that tuff SEC schedule.

I could throw in Michigan, who I feel has the right components to make a run this year (enough returning starters and skill players to make anyone scared), but Lloyd Carr just doesn't seem to get the job done. Texas is a very nice looking team this year, but it just seems some component is missing to make them that big time contender. FSU/Miami/Florida--there is always the possibility, but doubtful.

So, USC/LSU---and who wins? Hey, I'm a homer...LSU baby!

The favorites with the bookmakers are Florida and USC.

I don't like Florida to win it all, too many top defensive players from last year are gone.

USC is in what appears to be the toughest conference this year, so could slip up to one of the good Pac 10 teams (tho Trojans should have a crushing defense, no more than two teams are likely to score more than 17 points on them all season.)

I also don't like any team from the Big 10 to win it all. Nor from the ACC.

W. Virginia has a manageable schedule, and may get into the title game, but likely won't win it with a sometimes weak defense.

LSU may do it, but i don't like the fact the the top QB and safety are gone, drafted by NFL in first round. And, both wide receivers.

Your guess is as good as anyone else's. If you're sure you can back it up with cold cash.

LSU. If LSU can manage to not slip on one of their tough games on their tough schedule it will power them through the national championship like Florida did Ohio State. Matt Flynn is a very capable quarterback. He came off the bench year before last in the Peach Bowl and defeated Miami 40-3. Don't worry about receivers or running backs either because LSU is rich in depth there. LSU has a defense that has to be admired by all and they are returning 8 starters there.

TEXAS, with a relatively favorable schedule, all the returning wideouts, a retooled defense that oozes talent {{have ya seen the greatness of the younger guys comin up}}, jamaal charles focusin on football and a mature, ready for prime time Colt McCoy ---- TEXAS will be in the title game.

Texas with a strengthened secondary (brian they lost their top db's to the draft the year before last and the year before that and the year before that etc....) the secondary will improve do the change in philosophy from chizek's attack defense that often left corners on an island to Duane Akina who has tutored three Thorpe Award winners, five Thorpe Award finalists and 20 defensive backs who have played in the NFL. the improvement of McCoy and Charles as well as consistently having one of the best o-line and d-line's in football every year, and every one knows if you win the battle up front you should win the game. Toughest competition will be Tcu and Texas A&M. fortunately they wont have to worry about OU they will be 6-6 at best as they attempt to replace the starting qb and A.D. behind a weak o-line

i wouldnt desire to peer it. it doesnt clear up some thing. humans will simply make the argument that theyre two fcs groups. plus they performed final 12 months. two years in a row in a bowl recreation is dull. and no, its unattainable for lsu to jump tcu and boise if every are undefeated and lsu has one million loss. in the event that they do, then i simply will stop university soccer eternally.
