just say "dude, i dont really care" or if you want to be a smart a§ just say "really" after every sentence...they will eventually get annoyed and shut up haha

You ask "What are you trying to tell me exactly"? And then sit quietly while they bumble around wondering what. Then if it really nonsense, tell them a story about what you have done for someone lately, and ask them to tell you a story of what they have done lately for others. Then tell them you know one of the people involved, and you want to talk to that person too, about it.
Make them think twice before they start a big 'story'.
KISS "keep it simple stupid" is what I was always told to remember. Or as in the movie "The Last Kiss Goodnight", just say "don't be stupid" and walk off.

What you are asking does not make sense. What are they telling you that you do not want to hear. Is it their speech, language, problems??
