I think history texts should refer to it as "The Age of Boobism" or "The American Dark Ages."

How can it be the American dark ages when that country is wealthier than it has ever been, there is full employment and a strong economy and millions of people are breaking the law in order to get into the country and share in its bounty?

Unless of course you think all those things are negative.
Perhaps you ought to take a look at life in North Korea or Cuba or the Sudan.

The Age of Boobism? - well, yes, there's a lot of stupid stuff like all the Paris Hilton publicity and ex politicians claiming the ocean is going to rise 20 feet in the next few years, but that's because people have the freedom to do and say anything they want, even if it's dumb. Or were you referring to the craze for breast augmentation? The Brazilians do that a lot more than the Americans.

Again, though, it all comes back to people having the freedom to do what they want. Which can't be bad.
