A recent poll of a number of nations says that the people of Canada, Britain, Germany and France have more confidence in Vladimir Putin as a world leader than George Bush. VLADIMIR PUTIN! Has the whole world gone mad?
And before any of you blather on about torture and the War in Iraq, I have one word for you: Chechnya.

"The whole world has woke up.
I wish the rest of the republicans had done so before keeping the Dubawya in office this last term... not to dismiss the way he miraculously beat out Gore in the first place..... what a set up... money and family can buy you most anything... Obviously not the approval of foreigners... and not even most Americans now!"
I'm not a Bush fan, but VLADIMIR PUTIN!?

"It's just talk. Who does everyone count on when the poop hits the fan?"
And ironically enough, who does everyone **** on when everything's ok?

It depends on who responded to the poll or who was selected to participate in the poll. If the pool of respondents was loaded with the intelligensia and literati of Europe, then this is an expected result. There's always been a soft spot for Russia in Western Europe.
George Bush became a symbol of scorn from the time he was sworn into office. Europeans felt the same way about Lyndon Baines Johnson after he took office following the death of John Kennedy. It's part of the elitist attitude also being shown by the "enlightened ones" in the Boston-Washington corridor.
Even the group which ran the poll has its own agenda. So, I give it little credence.

It's because Chechnya was a part of Russia and though the way the war was fought was terrible, the reasons for going to war were valid and undisputed (not even by the US).
And Putin is simply not nearly as dumb as Bush...

i wouldnt say the whole international. yet i'd elect to show out an entire section "the middle east" those human beings have been given a topic with anybody, in the event that they shop this up, you wont be suprised to take heed to sometime that haiti (poorest usa) tries to wipe them of the face of this earth. no longer the whole international is mad in basic terms a great majority.

It's just public opinion. It doesn't surprise me how those poll numbers turned out.
You have to put these polls in the context of history and current events. But I think it is mainly this Iraq effect. It shows how this war have damaged our image abroad.
And it is not uncommon for the public to have opinions that are wrong or have been misled. Remember that public is not expert. The public get things wrong all the time. Doesn't mean they're crazy.

im pretty sure that if we were to look back in the future on both of them we would agree that they are equally useless as world leaders. its just that at the moment the world is reminded of mr. bush's incompetencies much more then mr. putin's.
