Here's a few reasons why I think this:

1. A.) Germany had a fake "terrorist attack" to wage a borderless war and demonize Jews and others.

B.)The US had a terrorist attack to wage a war on Afghanistan, Iraq, and now there's talk of Iran. The people from the middle east have been demonized. How many times have we heard the term "kill'em all".

2. A.) Hitler passed many laws to re-write the german consitution which allowed spying on it's own citizens "for their safety".

B.) Very similar unconstitutional laws were passed here such as The Patriot Act . "All for our safety right??"

3. A.) The Hitler Regime used propaganda and fear mongering through it's media outlets to keep it's citizens naive and falsely "informed"

B.) Our media does the same thing. Why aren't they reporting on stuff like this? I wouldn't know 90% of the things I know if it wasn't for the internet. I feel bad for the people who watch the news that think they're informed.

Does anyone else see these parallels?

The Bush family have been Nazis at least as far back as Grand pappy Prescot, who gave money to Hitler. Just about everything Bush has done smell of Nazism. Google "total information awareness" for further proof of what a Nazi Bush is. It saddens me that our country was taken in by his fear mongering. ABC even fired Bill Maher for not supporting Bush. None of the media gave us any information at that time so the public was largely uninformed. Even our Senators and Representatives buckled in to his fear mongering. The world is paying the price.

We are about as far from being Nazi Germany as Rosie O'Donnell is from being Playboy's playmate of the month !

1) The most troubling thing is your implication that the terrorist attacks against us were fake. Not only did we suffer a devastating loss (which cost our country $180 billion), but we have stopped numerous others. This war on terror is very real. This is not the kind of war where we get to see splashy headlines in the newspaper. Most of it must be done covertly.

2) What we are doing in this war is TAME compared to the lengths the government saw fit to take in other wars. In WWII we interned Japanese, prevented newspapers from reporting on things which would derail support for the war, and many other harsh measures. In the civil war, Abraham Lincoln suspended the right of habeus corpus, and yet he is revered as a great President. As evidenced by the fact that not one story has ever surfaced about even one person being unjustifiably targeted through the Patriot Act, we can be certain that it is being cautiously, prudently, and judiciously applied. On FOX News, Bill O'Reilly has offered to air any story of even one person being inconvenienced by the Patriot Act. To this date, no one can show even inconvenience. You cannot say the Patriot Act is unconstitutional. It has passed all challenges.

3) The media is overwhelmingly LIBERAL. Hence, there is no propaganda machine feeding us false information. Quite the contrary, Liberal outlets like the New York Times, practically as a matter of policy, never publish any positive stories about the war on terror nor President Bush. If you want to call anything "Nazi-esque" due to false propaganda, it is the Liberal print media. Things are much better than they would like us to believe.

3b) Why doesn't the Liberal media print balanced, responsible articles? It doesn't fit with their agenda. Think about this: Liberals mocked Bush for not giving into North Korea's demands to have bilateral talks with the U.S. over their nuclear program. Bush wisely refused, knowing the talks would reduce the pressure countries like China and Japan were putting on North Korea. When it turns out Bush's strategy was correct, and North Korea officially gave up plans for nukes, this should have been FRONT PAGE NEWS. It was a stellar diplomatic success. Did Liberal mouth pieces like the NYT praise Bush? Hell no. That is the kind of bias you will get unless you start watching Fox News. If you want information and news analysis you won't get elsewhere, watch them, especially The O'Reilly Factor.

So in summary, the U.S. is nothing at all like Nazi Germany. In that regime, no one could criticize the leadership. In the U.S., all you get is criticism, most of which is blatantly Liberally biased and completely unfair.

The U.S. like Nazi Germany? Maybe when that bloated windbag Michael Moore wins a bodybuilding championship.

The 9/11 --Reichstag fire are perfect analogies (even down to the only men tried for either were Non Compus Mentus).
the blind belief in an external threat (based entirely on what the Government has said without any corroborative evidence whatsoever), the FEMA camps, the mass media ( which is so onside with official policy won't even look at the Libby commutation in its full Constitutional context) .... so and on and so on ....Yes, the danger is real and present.
the sheeple are incapable of seeing it, needless to say.

There are many further parallels such as the FEMA concentration camps complete with gas chambers and massive ovens. Total police state tactics with all disagreeing with the government being dealt with. The people here who po-po this are the same ones that think our mass media is giving them the truth! The same ones that will say the camps are for illegals or other minority groups till they get their door busted down. These deluded people are a waste of time to try to wake up. All the info is "out there" if they took the time to look. No one wants to think the worst of our government but someone had better or we will be totally lost to the new world order one world fascist totalitarian government.

This is interesting thinking. In reality, you could draw parallels where none exist or that are opposite to your point of view.

For example, some would think there is a parallel between Japan attacking Pearl Harbor and Terrorists attacking NYC and Washington D.C.

I trust that if you are intelligent enough to draw the parallels such as you have, that you are intelligent enough to have an open mind.

The fact is that 9-11 was not made up. Radical people attacked innocent people and people from all over the world died that day. These attacks are happening all over the world, and I don't think that factors into your parallel with Nazi Germany.

Hitler controlled the media. I think it is at least a stretch to think that the current administration controls the media. Parallel three is suspect, at best.

Please do some research and I think you will find that parallel two is not even close. Hitler and the Nazi party took over the government. Our government could not be more divided.

I applaud your thinking and consideration of important matters. Keep searching and be objective.

You have to pity people that actually believe we are warring in Iraq because of terrorists. The warring CAUSED these terrorists. Iraq was NEVER a threat to the safety and security of the United States. Not by a long shot.

We're in Iraq to fight terrorism? That's clueless.

"We are at war - in response to an attack that killed almost 3000 innocent people in one day."

That's NOT why we are warring in Iraq and the U.S. has killed way more innocent civilians than 3000.

How long are you going to let the war profiteers take your money??

A quick study of American Histort would say hell no. We enjoy more freedoms today than ever.
How about:
110,000 Japanese American Citizens in Prison camps, Censorship of media and a 4 term President under FDR.
Communist with hunts in the 50's.
No Roe V Wads in the 60's.
No Integrated schools prior.
Active KKK.
Buliding Bomb Shelters.

Now:
Internet.
Roe V Wade.
Freedom of Information act.
Affirmative action.
No Prison Camps......Ect....
Quit reading goofy websites, and pick up a history book. Better yet, look around you. What are you not allowed to do today???

From what you have written its clear you have not read the patriot act and don't have a clear idea of history.
There is absolutely no proof that Bush "staged" a terrorist attack. (Who in the military would knowingly obey an order to kill 3000 innocent people, I served for 20 years and never met one person who would) What outlets are you speaking of, the majority of the news is highly critical of the president and his policies. The few that are balanced are the only true sources of information.
I have never heard the President or his staff say "kill them all', Matter of fact that would be a far easier option than the course we have taken.
Your propaganda tries to play connect the dots, too bad that there are none there to connect.
Your "parallels" are incorrect and historically inaccurate. Go back to the college prof that spoon fed you this pap and demand the truth.

Not even close.

The parallels you allude to don't compare favorably.
Perhaps you forgot that, unlike Hitler, Mr. Bush is history in 2008. We are an electoral democracy - as evidenced by the immigration bill crashing and burning despite the government trying to shove it down our throats - we the people do still govern.
We are at war - in response to an attack that killed almost 3000 innocent people in one day. That's a far cry from seeking world control through an ideology of hatred and domination.

I have considered and written about this very issue at length, and would be glad to share my perspective via email (let's spare ourselves the flamers, shall we?) if you are as interested as you seem to be.

I am fluent in German, have studied for a year in German University, and am something of a history buff.

Plenty of people are about to tell you how wrong they think you are, but I'm not one of them. The parallels are numerous, and they are not difficult to demonstrate.
