i was watching the news the other night and it said that children start lying at 6 months. they say babies will often pretend like they are hurt just to get their mother's attention. therefore, essentially we all lied as kids.

My mum lied to me about things when I was young and I don't agree with it. I didn't know I had a real grandad until I was 14, and someone phoned to say he had died. Also, that my mum was having an affair for 9 years before she left. Unfortunately in our family we've had to face death with very young children, 3, 2 and 1 years old. We've found that just telling the truth at an age appropriate level is the best. Also, children take on more than they can understand. For example, I always felt as a child there was something different about me compared to my cousins and that a grandma didn't treat me the same. I thought I had done something wrong, but it was because I wasn't a blood relative. If I had known about it, it would have been better.

we were all born into a world of sin. we are not perfect and are expected by nature to do things like that. I sure lied as a kid and those who say they did not are just adding on to the million lies they have already told in their lives.

Oh my goodness I would lie like a rug. Can't tell you why. And always made sure my kids knew the value of telling the truth.

Ya I did lie as a child and it always got me into trouble, but then as a child when I started not to lie any more my parents still didn't believe me and I still got into trouble so either way it didn't matter. So now that I'm married I tell my husband the truth, I find that it's always better to tell the truth,
