When Our vice president can go into closed door meetings with Enron and the heads of the energy corporations and not have to tell us what was said in those meetings we have a problem. The freedom of information act says we are entitled to know whatever was said behind those doors. When the vice president of the united states can thumb his nose at the law and the american people and is not accountable to the american people we really have to step back and ask what is wrong here. Government is only there to serve the people period. It's time to take back the power.

You think only you Americans have a bad government, think again, they are all over the world including Canada. The last party got away with billions of dollars which stole from taxpayers and all they get is a slap on the wrist. That is the last time I vote for a Liberal. Now, It's going to be hard to decide to vote for who ever are any different from the Liberals.

As citizens, we haven't lost any power; we've just stopped exerting it. Instead of hounding the congress that we elected, we COMPLAIN. We send junk emails about illegal immigrants and senators' retirement plans, and we forward jokes about our least favorite candidates. We make ourselves angry, and then we look at the floor and shake our heads sadly and say "what's this country coming to." And then we blame "the politicians" and "the government" for not solving problems we are perfectly capable of solving on our own. I, myself, do not WANT to know what goes on behind closed doors unless the secret stuff DIRECTLY affects ME. And if it does, and if it's negative AND if it's TRULY UNFAIR, then I'm back at my Congressman's (or Congresswoman's) front door, demanding investigation of the circumstances. The System hasn't failed me yet. Not even once. Ever.

Well if you check, a great many Democrats attended meetings with Enron and so far I have not heard any cry from them to open the minutes of the meetings to the general public. And as I remember Cheney was not the VP when those meetings were held, he was a private citizen then. Do you believe he has the right to privacy as that?

Bush does not have sent the troops distant places first of all. people who're in place of work now does not be there, it would be a very different team of folk. they might make extra beneficial judgements and the corrupt cops, properly, they does not be officers interior the 1st place, they does not have even utilized for the activity. i do no longer think of we could continuously kill them for petty scandals, yet what Bush is doin', now it incredibly is would be reason for what's being accomplished in China.

because few people care anymore... to a degree we are far too trusting of our officials and far to subdued by our own success..

we're distracted by the computer, pool and TV we have... and we're not paying attention to what they are doing, for the most part...

and the poor that don't have those things simply don't even have an idea how government even works the majority of the time and are just struggling to make it through...

EDIT: and since when is Stalin in favor of open government? it actually sounds like Stalin would be in Cheny's court of governmental control the VAST majority of the time... but I would be interested to hear how you could defend that statement...

The Republican Party has always been known as the party of dirty tricks. The current tenure began when the election was stolen from Al Gore in Floridia. George Bush was declared the moral choice for president. I believe that shows just how bad they wanted to carry out their agenda for us.
