9x+5y=45

What is y when x =1.

This is for graphing by the way..... I thought it'd be 9 but that answer was wrong.

Hi, ok you need to plug in the answer. so 9 times 1 is 9.

Now it looks like this: 9+5y=45

Subtract the 9 from both sides

Now you are left with 5y=36

Divide 5 from bother sides.

You get Y= 7.2

9x + 5y =45

x = 1

substitute 1 in for x in the first eqn and solve for y

9*1 +5y = 45
9 + 5y = 45
5y = 45-9 = 36
y = 36/5 = 7.2

put into the first eqn and verify answer

9*1 + 5*7.2 = 45
9 + 36 = 45

(note, y = 9 when x = 0 then you have
9*0 + 5y = 45
0+5y = 45
5y = 45
y = 45/5 = 9)

the only reason I hate math is via the instructor. this is somewhat a sort of cases while the homework is "John has 2 apples, Sur supplies him yet another. what proportion apples does John have now?" And on the tests the questions are "John has seven oranges. Sue supplies him 5 lemons. how speedy does the prepare return and forth in 6 hours?" The questions concerning to the homework are truly user-friendly, yet then the questions concerning to the tests are not something we've even found out yet.. i do no longer possibly focus on something... i assume I type of focus on song, yet there's some people who're greater helpful than me. I have no specific skills.
