about 3 weeks ago i started having sex with my now boyfriend, and we were both virgins. however now i get a somewhat cottage cheese discharge. I thought maybe it was a yeast infection but there is no burning or itching and there is no foul smell. Is this normal or is this something else, if something else then what?

It doesn't sound like a normal type of discharge, so you should see a doctor.

My assumption is that your discharge is normal. When a girl is ovulating (when the ovary releases an egg) she normally will experience an increase in discharge during that time (around the 14th day of your cycle) but if there is ANY itching or smells whatsoever, it could be a yeast infection or something else...when in doubt, always consult with your physician! it never hurts to be safe.

Don't Freak out, its probably still a yeast infection or something minor. If its your first infection of this kind, you need to see a doctor. Call first, they may be able to recommend something over the phone. If you're worried about your parents finding out, don't. Just don't go to your family doctor. Doctors have a doctor/patient confidintiality which means they can't discuss your issues with anyone. While you're there, you might want to discuss birth control options.

You should go to the dr.
Sounds like a yeast infection, but could be something else.

Most likely the start of a yeast infection. Have you been on antibiotics lately? That can cause it... Simple solution....go to the pharmacy and get a treatment. They have one day treatments now! And 3 day and 7 day.... If symptoms persist or change, see your Dr You could have a bacterial infection and need antibiotics.
