was anyone Else working when work permits law went into effect?

Question

i was 12-13 had my own job paying rent to stay were i worked with my friend with his family and when the the work permit came into efect i had to go home. there was some work after that but not a lot then got a bad rap with school ect.. start of 70s when nam was "over".
my outlook changed and life became difficult.
Question; am i alone in this? age 47 ?

I'm 54 and started working when I was 10(store model) and still work today(in health care) and I never had a work permit.
