It's actually Ouija board. I personally think it works. Some people think it's from the devil. I think it's what you make it. I've had it work many many times. It's told me and my friends some pretty creepy things. We like it. It doesn't ALWAYS work though. Sometimes it doesn't do anything at all. Other times it may move very very slowly. Before you begin asking question, circle the triangle piece around the board three times. Wait, just a second. Then before asking random questions ask "Is anybody here" Try to make sure everyone is quiet and defintely focused! That's a big one. Try not to ask too many questions at once....give it time to answer. Try not to get freaked out if it starts moving really fast....be grateful...it just means it's really strong and has a lot of energy. Make the most of it that you can. Umm...There are some places where it doesn't work as well as others too. A friend and I tried it here at my house one day on the dining room table when nobody was here. It wasn't working at all. I've always gotten "weird" feelings in the hallway in my house. We went and tried it in there and it worked really really well! The biggest thing with a Ouija board is to be patient, focused, and friendly. Try not to upset anyone who is trying to talk to you. Oh...and if you get a really really uneasy feeling while you are doing it, feel free to stop. Take the piece off the board and turn the board over for a few minutes. Each time you try to talk to a new person, circle the triangle piece three times in a circle. Hope this helps. And, like I said, if it doesnt work in one place, don't be discouraged...just try somewhere else. Oh and definitely make sure you trust the people you are playing with so that you can basically be sure that nobody is moving the piece....you can usually kinda tell by watching their fingers or other ways....not always though.

Heh, to begin with, folks, it is called a "Ouijaâ¢" board (most folks pronounce it as "wee-jee"). A direct translation into English is "Yes Yes." A compound trademark word made from the French (Oui) and German (Ja) words for "yes."
The modern toy version under this name originated in 1891 and was first produced by the Kennard Novelty Co., Baltimore, Md, USA.
The key word is included in your question, it is simply a game that people play.
A pat, knee-jerk response to questions about this item is (as you've seen): "It's the Devil's work!"
If we grant that "evil spirits" are supposed to work through this game, they're something other than the Christian Devil, as (supposedly) the earliest known version of this divination device dates from circa 1200 BCE China.
The most common use for this today by those attempting to use it as something other than a game is to attempt communication with persons no longer living. Which makes a kind of sense, as the version of it we know today came out during the hey-day of spiritualism.
In the end, I think you'll have to form your own opinion. I would also suggest doing some research of your own (personally, that's one thing that's always bothered me about the standard parrot-response—no explanations, no references, no research...sorry about that, I try not to put opinions into my answers, but I can't help myself with this one.) ;-)

It's spelled "Oiuja," which is a combination of the french and german words for "yes." I think Parker Bros. still makes and sells them. They're also called "talking boards."
Wasting time is what games are for, so don't be so upset. My sister and I had fun with ours when we were kids; talked to some "entity" who said he had been a sea captain, and his ship had gone down with all hands and a treasure on board. Great story. Might have even been true for all I know.
We got bored with it and tucked it away. Haven't touched one since.

No! Leave it alone.
When you play, you could possibly open a doorway to something that you don't want around. You probably can't get rid of it without some divine help, either.
Your best bet would be to burn it. If you just get rid of it, it could possible fall into someone else's hands and harm them.
I have only heard bad things about them. If you're too curious to leav it alone, make sure to keep your bible close as well as some friends.
Don't be crazy.

I would play with my girlfriends when i was about 15 years old..asked it boy questions. The pointer always moved and spelled things out, but with 4 girls having their fingers on it..most likely one of them was pushing it.

When a trial jury goes into deliberations I think that instead of taking anonymous ballot votes as to whether or not the defendant is guilty the jury should instead gather round a Ouija board and use it to spell out their verdict.

It doesn't seem to work for everyone but I do know of people that have had success. Be careful in dealing with the spirit world.

Ouija board..and I am not sure because every time I have used one I am sure the other person was moving it. So if you are doing it make sure you completely trust the other person not to move it.
