I was thinking I could call my local newspaper and get in touch with one of the writers and see if he could set me up with a press pass so I could write an article for my school newspaper.

is this a question or a novel? ok so you have your mind made you why ask the question? I bet you think 9/11 was an inside job too. get a life, MJs dad liked baseball and he played baseball in his memory. But I am sure you don't have those news stories. And the fact that he reitred and came back a 2nd time, so what that for gambling? again? By the way Charles Barkley used to comment on how he loved going to Vegas and him and MJ had poker games so why was Charles not forced to retire? and you can't even get the link right, it does not work. so you are wrong twice. Or are you upset that eveyone watched MJ play and no one cares about your boring dirty SPURs? Why don't you have links to the NBA final Ratings.

It's impossible by it's very definition.
You could try, but I doubt a pro journalist will give you his pass for your school paper. But maybe HE would grant you an interview.
