Ok, I just watched this show for the first time tonight. This show is blowing my mind! A 42 year old woman could not answer this question by herself:

"If the diameter of a circle is 4, what is the radius of the circle?"

Now, you don't have to be a genuis to answer this question, or even particularly smart. Does anyone else agree with me that all this show does is demonstrate to the world how stupid Americans really are. I'm very sorry to say this being an American myself but, seriously? You be the judge.

By the way, how do you get on the show. I would love a chance at the million dollar prize. It seems much easier than it would be on "Who wants to be a Millionaire?"

There is a link on the website to apply for the show. So far I've gotten all but two or three of the question right. I haven't been as lucky with the million questions though. Only reason I know some the answers is due to helping my nieces with their homework.

Have watched with a few friends from UK and Germany and they haven't done much better ;-)

Nearly half of them have won $500K - you get 10 questions and the kids can help you with 3, meaning that you only need to answer 70% of the questions.

Rupert Murdoch must have a lot of $500K and $1,000,000 annuities to burn so he came up with the show. Don't expect to see it around much longer - even into the new season.

Plus I would like my crack at the $1,000,000 but I forgot how many legs were on a butterfly; so, I'm not smarter than a 5th grader.

In a way I do agree. But after that many years of not using any of the little facts and rules that you learn in elementary school, it is hard to reach back into your memory and find it. Plus they also tend to question themselves. I would think, that with the added pressure of cameras, and audience, and Jeff Foxworthy ready with a joke, it makes it that much harder to pull off.

I can say, as a 20 year old woman (straight A student all through school)...I am NOT smarter than a fifth grader.

i don't know. my hubby and i watch the show regularly and we miss some of the questions on there and we are both pretty smart. i would say we are above average. i think the questions are so varied there is no way that a regular person would be able to answer all of them corectly. it's proven because not one person has won a million dollars on that show.

cause the thing is that most of those skills aren't used once you get into the real world unless your field of work requires that type of knowledge.
i'm about to be a freshman in high school and i don't even remeber some of that stuff. most of those skills aren't revisited after a while so grown adults probably won't remember all of that. they KNOW it but they just don't REMEMBER it.
