I have missed periods, and I'm not pregnant, I sweat uncontrollably, i have gained alot of weight and I am unable to lose it. Also, I need to know if this my be the cause of my infertility, as my husband and I have been trying to concieve since July 2006.

You could have polyosynistic ovarian syndrome. Its a hormonal imbalance and causes cysts on your ovaries. Ask your doctor about it.

You may have another type of hormonal imbalance in regards to testerone or estrogen. I would go to your gynecologist and ask them to a fertility workup to make sure your body is producing the right hormones in right amount. This would explain the abnormal periods, weight gain. People with polycystic ovary disease tend to get heavy.

Approximately 6% percent of women of child bearing age have PCOS, i.e., polycystic ovarian syndrome, also known as female hyperandrogenism. Some other symptoms, of this disorder, in addition to those you have listed are: alopecia, acne vulgaris and hirsutism.
