You're welcome to your own opinions, but when it comes to controlling tax dollars you didn't earn, shouldn't that be a clue to you to earn more money instead of hating?

I agree 100%

The only ones complaining about the so called "income gap" are flaming socialists who want to "redistribute" (i.e. steal) that income from the productive and give it to the lazy.

They should get a life!

Why is it that they always point out the growing number of lower wage earners and yet don't point out the growing numbers of people that are "well off"?
Population growth will do that. But I for one see many people of all races and nationalities in Atlanta driving their Lexus's and Beemers to their 4000 square foot homes on a regular basis.

I am middle class, I did start my working life making minimum wage. But I also ALWAYS strived to do better and get better.
The problem with many people is they start at a new job, have the idea that they will, "climb the ladder" at said company, and be able to do great things.
It doesn't work that way these days, to move up, you have to move on. When someone lets themselves stagnate, it isn't my fault.

A person with family to help pay their way through college.Connections to help find a good job. Some people work minimum wage (nowhere) jobs(with no benefits). Many jobs today are part-time to start.Illegals are doing more low wage jobs which make it even harder for those who need them.(not all poor people don't work).
Many people today who make over 40,000 a year believe the biased media that claims everyone who wants a good paying job can just go out and get one.If you think a person making minimum wage can pay all their bills, buy food, buy gas and keep up a car (with insurance),etc. Then have plenty of money to pay the skyrocketing tuition at colleges, try living on 5.15 an hr.
I'm not saying I believe in socialism.I'm just saying most people who are rich didn't start out in a poor family, and worked a minimum wage job to start their career (very few people can do that).
These minimum wage workers may be employees for some of the rich folk you know.

If your point had only been that those people who worry about income gap ought to realize that efforts to narrow the gap always end up doing more harm than good, and stop worrying about it, then I'd agree. I'm not sure what "hating" has to do with anything.

(Btw, I like having you in my network of contacts, but I haven't yet figured out how to extend you the same courtesy. I can't figure out how to offer you to have my name in your network of contacts.)

Why is it when the rich gets tax breaks it's okay to distribute the wealth up, but when the middle class has to pay a bigger share of the taxes because of the breaks , it becomes class warfare. Just look to Mexico and most of if not all of Latin American to see what happens when the wealthy has 98% of wealth and the 2% that don't are mired in poverty. Does the level of illegal immigration into our country give you a clue.

You know what I hear.....WAAAAAA! I don't make a ton of money but I want nothing I don't work for and earn. We sacrifice so that my wife can stay home with our small children. We try to better ouselves in any way we can, not by asking the government to redistibute wealth from the so-called "rich elite". And oh by the way yes I am a conservative, and damn proud of it!

everyone contributes to tax dollar, thus everyone has a say

and the gap is too wide.
we no longer have a middle class. you can't make enough to be comfortable and be finacially secure, unless you are rich.
people who work 'middle class' jobs don't make enough to live comfortably and some have to take on an extra job. they definatly fear a spike in prices, taxes (especially property), or a missing a pay-check. anyone of those things could harm their lives greatly.
it wasn't like that before.

I love the headline. Apparently 500 people represent the opinion of 300,000,000 Americans.

Interesting take on that. Another way to look at it would be that in order to keep our country and economy flourishing it is in our best interest to not create a caste of people who are basically indentured servants to the elite. This is rapidly the direction our country is heading if it is not held in check. I do not mean that we should support a lifetime of welfare for some who are too lazy to work. The majority of people if given the opportunity will make something of themselves. Not everyone is born with the same opportunities.

Of course it is, but the only one responsible to fix that is yourself, not the government, not your rich neighbor, not a socialist but you. You & only you are responsable for your ability to earn.
