If your 18 go to Redz on O'Connell bridge, there are always loads of kids hanging around there, but I've never been in it myself, cause I'm way past 18. The Porter house is good, they have 2 bars, one in Temple bar and another in Nassau street. the Quay bar in Temple bar has Irish dancing etc, but its always jammed pack (of tourists). If I were you I'd go out around 5 and fall home at 1am, because the night clubs just get too busy.
You can officially drink at 18, but some bars are over 21s, (don't worry some are over 25s and others over 30s) so bring your ID, beer is about €5.00 a pint, just to warn you. And try get accommodation in the city because trying to get out of it late a night is enough to sober you up. And if your getting a taxi from the airport tell them you have relatives here, and were here when you were younger (just so they don't bring you the scenic route)

Do not as a previous answerer said, go to Reds on O' Connoll Street, the place is a dive. It's small, sweaty, and smells!Clubs only accept college cards during the week, at weekends you will find it very hard to get into places with anything les than a pasport or drivers licence. Nearly all of the places in Dublin City Centre are great spots to go out, I could name a hundred places. Just do what we do, go into town, find a pub that looks lively and go with the flow. They are always the best nights! Enjoy your trip. x

make sure you have photo Id with you, a passport is not really necessary , but a college id or something official is usually fine..
everyone will tell you to go to temple bar.. but it's a nightmare at weekends, because there are lots of people hanging around and trouble sometimes happens there , especially on fridays and saturdays,
keep a close eye on your money, temple bar is notorious for pickpockets
if you want a good drinking session, I can recommend the porterhouse in temple bar ( they brew their own beer, ale and stout) and has a nice relaxed atmosphere during the week
'Spirit' in abbey street is a big club that usually stays open til around 4 or 5 am, usually costs about 20 euro to get in, depending on who's playing
'tripod' in harcourt street is another big club, and same applies to prices and whoevers playing
but there's plenty of good bars that have good music playing all night, so you don't really need to go to clubs..
'Pravda' in liffey street, 'zanzibar' on the quays, 'dakota' in south william street are all great spots that stay open late
just be careful, don't hang around the streets after you've been drinking and you'll be fine
enjoy your stay here

A lot of clubs say over 21 .... but in any case going out in Dublin is extortionate, at €5 a pint.

Need to check on the basics; passport, flight time with arrival, money to be changed to Eros's, hotel room X's how-many nights, food, pictures, condoms, safety just in case cash. Yes you can have a great time. Just ask for help from the US embassy on safe and those that are not. Just plan it out before you lay any money down and you will have a fantastic time. I did.
