I am sixteen and work at a used CD store. My friend Yvette is also 16 and works at a restaurant. We have a mutual coworker (he works two jobs) named Taylor who is an attractive, flirtatious 23-year-old. I've never worked the same shift as him, so I myself have never been alone with him.
The other night, Yvette says she went to the bar and was chatting with him; he had had a beer or two. She layed her head on the counter in exhaustion. He leaned over and began stroking her breasts.
In addition, he is very flirtatious and often says things like "Love knows no age."
She isn't afraid he's going to rape her or anything. I don't really know what to make of this. Should I tell MY manager that Taylor does this sort of thing? I certainly encouraged Yvette to tell hers.

Because both of you are 16, what he did was not illegal, IF HE HAD HER CONSENT. Age 16 and over is legally a "minor", while age 15 and under is legally a "child". The reason for the differentiation is so that anyone over 18 cannot have any sexual contact with someone under 16. But that would kind of suck if your boyfriend was 18 and not allowed to hold your hand or kiss you. So as long as an 18yr-old isn't sleeping with someone younger than him (or her), they are within the law.

However, within the work environment, even between couples, it could be considered sexual harrassment. If your friend did not invite that contact, then legally, he is in big trouble. I might look up the laws for your state/country, but most US state laws follow similar patterns. Report him. It could definately get worse if you don't.

Why is it your manager's business? And if you didn't see him, don't report him, because it could be wrong and you'd be guilty of slander. I'm not certain why she laid her head down on the counter and let him stroke her, but I would say this isn't the whole story--what was she doing in a bar at 16, anyway?
Both of you need to stay away from him and avoid situations like this.

I would limit telling your manager to only anything that happens to you in your place of employment with this guy.

Otherwise, it's up to your friend Yvette to tell this guy to back off next time he does that to her.

Your friend should definitely tell her manager what happened. What that dude did to her is inappropriate. It is defined as SEXUAL HARASSMENT. Since Taylor didn't do anything to you where you work, telling your manager would solve nothing.

Please have your friend speak to the manager. You may be able to go with her, but if this hasn't happened to you, stay silent and let her tell. In addition, her parents and the police need to know. This is illegal and in no way right at all.

yes tell the manager
if she is afraid, then tell whoever

why is she at the bar?

on oral sex and crude questions. christianity and promiscuity don't mix very well. you have to make up your mind who you are. if you want to be sexual, it should be non-harming. if you are claiming christianity and experimenting with your sexuality, are you actually being a christian or not?

thats not right, someone needs to bring this up to the managers right away b/c its just going to obviously continue and become more sexual and inappropriate if its not stopped right away
