Use the spring loaded rods that fit on the insides of your window frames. You can get them at Wal Mart.

Not really. You can find some adhesive I'm sure, but remember, your wall most likely consists of drywall, Spackle and paint. Putting a hole in the wall is not the end of the world, because if you need to take them down, and want it to still look good, just spread some more Spackle/plaster into the hole, let it dry, sand it down and do a lil touch up paint. It really doesn't take from the "value" of your wall, and honestly, (I have worked in this field) you want quality work, and some sort of adhesive will not be structurally sound, nor will it last. My recommendation, find the studs, and screw those brackets in nice and tight. Do a good job on hanging your curtains, and don't fret about "ruining" your wall. It's a very simple fix. Trust in me. BTW - I'm a chica - So I know about not wanting to "ruin" things, but with my experience, I would highly recommend doing it correctly, not ideally.

This is quite a task without proper hangings. The weight of the curtains would pull them down, you need a good solid place to hang them like a screw and a joist or at least a plug. I wouldn't hang curtains with a solid place to hang them from.

You can actually tack a thin wooden slat or quarter round along the front edge of your upper window frame and lay the curtain rod behind that piece of wood so it doesn't roll off onto the floor. Paint the slat or thin quarter round the color of the frame so it matches. This way, you can remove the slat or the drapes anytime you want. The only drawback is that your entire window frame will show.

depending on how heavy the curtains are and how large the window is, there are magnetic hooks and rods. You just use a little bit of magnetic paint around the area and you're good to go. We have them on nearly all of our windows

Use velcro(or magic tape?). That's the one they use in kids' shoes instead of a buckle or shoe lace. MAybe you should ask an effective adhesive from a hardware that can hold the velcro against the wall.

I don't think there is an adhesive strong enough to hold them. I have seen magnetic ones for metal window and door frames, but that's about it.

holes are very simple to fix if you ever need to there is a product called spackle that is made to cover the hole then you just touch it up with paint so dont worry about the little holes

you can try 3M products they may hold depending on the weight of your curtain. 3M adhesive products can remove without affecting the wall surface. there are many different types ,usually found at any office supply store
