Am I the only one!?!? Why are all but one of the Republican candidates neo-cons??? Why are all the Republican talk show and radio hosts all neo-cons??? (Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Larry Kudlow)
Thanks to the neo-cons and Mr. Bush, the image of us Republicans is ruined. America will be paying higher taxes after the next election thanks to the neo-cons who ruined everything. Thanks a lot.

Got a Light Leo: I am NOT a democrat. But I do believe that we can have a capitalist society while at the same time we can provide health benefits to those who need them. We can easily spend more money on healthcare by cutting down on pork spending, and by cutting down on foreign aid. There is so much pork spending going on, it is sickening.

There must be some still surviving out there. The extremist, neo-cons are shouting to loud for the others to be heard it seems.
True conservatives are decent caring people.

There are plenty of republicans who are rational members of the party. Many of them are breaking ranks with George Bush. The problem is, they are doing it too late. It's a difficult thing to disagree with the president when he's a member of your party. Unfortunately, many well intentioned republicans alllowed this thing to get way out of hand because of their loyalty. Now, with elections coming up soon, those who are facing challenges for their seats are making it clear that they do not agree with certain of the administration's policies. I dont blame them for waiting, but I wish they did not wait as long as they did.
I am not a republican. Nor am I a democrat. I never make decisions based upon party affilliation. Instead, I make them based upon the person and their positions. There are republicans and democrats I respect, and disrespect. I will never cast my vote based upon anything less than my evaluation of the candidate.
I think this polarized version of democracy in this country is a painful thorn in our side. It has to stop. There can be no meaningful discussion of the issues if all the candidates think about is winning without rationale.

I think that a whole lot of them just stopped considering themselves Republican. Right now, more Americans than ever consider themselves "Libertarian" and and the libertarian section of the Republican party has given way to more nationalism and Christian socialism.
Heck, at least a quarter of Republicans polled said the government was "too small" to deal with all the social and international issues they want addressed. You better believe those taxes are going up!

I wouldn't view someone like Kudlow as a neo-con. Neo-cons are liberals in conservative clothing.
And, no, you're not the only non-neo-con out there. There are still many libertarian Republicans around.

The neo-con movement is dead. It's time for Republicans to take back their party if they want to win in '08. If they want to win in Iraq, they have to heal America first. Let's start here on Y/A - peace!

Plenty. Neocons are minority of the Republican Party. The largest component (although not a majority) are religious conservatives. Most of those you mention by name are not Neocons. Few if any of the Republican presidential candidates are Neocons.

I would say just about 99% of them are. Neo-Con is an overly used, and overly misused term, which has turned into a derogatory term for all Conservatives and Republicans.

The Republican Party is a big tent, big enough to accommodate cons, paleocons, neocons, rinos, and libertarians. I happen to be a libertarian philosophically and an independent politically.
