i just heard a merchant talking about a monograph. what are these and when can i get one and how?

Here is a list of the Monographs, and how to get them to show up in the bazaar.

These are all listed as Forgotton Grimoire in Bazaar, except the Canopic Jar.

Hunter's Monograph - 18,000 gil (Talk to Gatsly in Muthru Bazzar after Thextera hunt)
Better loot from Beasts and Avions

Knight's Monograph - 19,000 gil (Talk to any weapon merchant more than 30 times)
Better loot from Giants and Insects

Warmage's Monograph - 20,000 gil (Read the hunt board more than 20 times)
Better loot from Amorphs and Undead

Mage's Monograph - 21,000 gil (Talk to any magick merchant more than 25 times)
Better loot from Fiends

Scholar's Monograph - 22,000 gil (Talk to any armor merchant more than 15 times)
Better loot from Constructs

Dragoon's Monograph - 22,000 gil (Read the hunt board more than 40 times)
Better loot from Dragons and Plants

Sage's Monograph - 25,000 gil (Talk to any merchant over 100 times)
Better loot from Elementals

Canopic Jar - 250,000 gil (Sell Phobos Glaze, Horakhty's Flame, and Deimos Clay)
It's listed as Morbid Urn in the bazaar
All enemies can drop Arcana

Monographs are usually available from different merchants after completing certain requirements. They are really useful because they make it a lot more frequent for specific types of monsters to drop rare items. You can find a list of the monographs and where to get them if you check on www.gamefaqs.com.

if you see talk of a mongraph, find a merchant as soon as possible and check bazaar, they will change the names to Grimoires, which are the same thing as the monographs.

They appear expensive at first, and they are when you first get them, but you must get them immediatly. The rewards are worth it in the end. Every monster type drops more rare items which means you get more money! So even if one costs 25000 and you only have 26000, BUY IT!

I'm no expert on this but I believe it's talking to certain sales people, or selling certain goods, and it becomes available to buy in the Bazaar. It gives you certain things which I can't recall but, I just know its expensive and worth having.
