I see people criticizing each other just because of religion or preference in sex/gender. Why doesn't anyone know that it's not their choice to decide or say what's right or wrong for those others? These are just extremely ignorant people, I know, just need opinions.

There was never such a time.

You mention gays. Not long ago being openly gay was simply unacceptable.

Now it's on it's way to becoming completely accepted.

In fact, I can't believe the change in society in such a short time.

From a dirty secret (when I was a child, in the 60s), to being largely accepted (a majority of Americans support gay rights, except for marriage -- though they support "everything BUT marriage" and younger people do support gay marriage).

In a couple of decades.

Most people who lived in the past did NOT accept other religions as legitimate, not to mention not accepting atheism or agnosticism.

I believe that humans as a whole have never been as tolerant (of other's religions, races, languages, lifestyles, or sexual orientations) as now.

Yes, there IS a lot of intolerance, but less now than ever, and, I believe, continuing to decrease.

somewhat some human beings come here extraordinarily to coach what bigots they're. somewhat some atheists in specific try this, yet regrettably somewhat some Christians are this sort to boot. the version I see is the atheists are often griping approximately how judgmental all the Christians are. Oh if I had a greenback for each individual who greater healthful that profile i might by no potential ought to artwork something of my existence. i do no longer approve of the Christians who try this doing it the two, yet I see it coming lots greater from the atheists, who're all supposedly open-minded.

I think that people who make fun of other people's believes are people who have no real beliefs of their own that they would stick up for. It easy to make fun of someone that you'll never see or have contact with. That way you won't have to defend your beliefs you can say that you believe any way that you won't even if you don't really believe that way. Who's going to know the difference? Some times from all of the things that are said here I think that people make up things just to see if they can get people angry and upset. I think that most of the time it's people who don't have the guts to vocalize their feeling where they would have to prove or disprove them. It's very easy to say things when you're going to be anonymous. That takes no courage or beliefs.

I don't think most people mind hearing other people's opinions or beliefs. I read alot of questions/answers that are demeaning to the person, not just their opinion., poking fun at their questions, spelling, etc. It's not right. We are all on the earth for a special reason, we should really love one another, caring, helping instead of critizing.

You ask what happened when respecting? NOTHING!
Respecting others is actually, nature of mankind.

DISrespecting, that has and gives impact; heart beats in both parties (subject and object) as well third parties fastened, nerves also get the impact. To some create hatred and further violence .......-----> WAR .

That's my opinion.

Jesus taught that there was only "one" true way. So there is no room to respect another belief if it is not in line with Jesus's teachings.
