I'm sorry you started breastfeeding. Didn't you realize that it worked like it does? As to it hurting, you probably aren't doing it right. It isn't supposed to hurt all the time. Only if you get engorged, or have a plugged duct, or if the baby isn't latching on correctly. I am a stay at home mom, so I sure didn't start feeding to show my chest!!! No one is even around to see it, and the only person who does besides my baby is his dad, and in a relationship, most times you don't cover your chest all the time ( how did your baby get to be here?) I truly feel that you are the one in the dark ages. Only in the U S of A does everyone think that the breast is supposed to be covered all the time except for sexual reasons. When I am breastfeeding, my breast is not a sexual object, and I am certainly not trying to get attention. Like one wonderful woman said, if I want people to look at my chest, I wear a shirt to showcase it!!

you can be done i guess with a mother like you your baby is already used to second best ..... but seriously this is what women thought in the 50's almost all children except those in familys too poor to afford formula were formula fed it was though of as the future and everyone should move on but i ask you this just read the can of formula it will say right on there breast milk is best
it is easier to make sure that the baby is getting enough???? lmao i am breastfeeding my second child who is 2 months old and actually off the growth charts babies let you know when they are hungry
there are tons of reasons why it is better to have breastmilk less allergies, less sickness, they are smarter, i could go on and on but you don't want to hear it obviously you are not willing to put the time and effort into your child to make sure they get whats best
poor you leaving the house is soo much more important then your baby's health
FACT: BREAST IS BEST ... it may not be best for you but it is for your baby

Do whatever works for you but as a breastfeeding mom I can assure you that the last thing on my mind is 'showing off a breast'! Besides, in my case the second the breast is out I have a little sucky fish stuck on it that has no intention of letting anyone else get a peek. I breastfeed because it is right for me and for my child. If formula were best, then why all of the options with different formulas for babies with gas, for babies with allergies, etc. when babies can almost always take their mom's milk? Do what you like but next time you see a woman breastfeeding in public take a closer look and I will bet that you don't even see the woman looking at you because she is consumed with love for her child and could care less what anyone else thinks! Good day to you!

I must say I find your statements highly offensive and just plain stupid.
It is much easier to know your baby is getting enough from breastfeeding by noting how many wet diapers they have, if they are gaining weight and developing correctly. Do you continuously measure each morsole that goes into your mouth? Or are you able to tell when you have had enough,or not enough. By noting your bowel movements you know if you need more fibre or you ate something bad or you may be sick. This is the same for babies. Their body language and cries are their way of telling you I'm hungry, I'm sick etc.
If you are unable to handle the care and responsibility of raising a child then why have one? You really do sound to immature to be a caregiver to a tiny precious baby if that is your view. What did you expect to give birth and the baby be self sufficient from day dot?
Babies whether breastfed or bottlefed need love, attention, care and constant contact with their mothers. This helps them learn and grow and ensures that they feel secure in their scary new surroundings.
The fact is that breastfeeding is best for every child. And sadly not all women can breastfeed. And some women just simply refuse to breastfeed because to them the breast has been oversexualised. But those who do breastfeed are doing an amazing thing for their child and giving them a great start in life. And your whole attitude is filtering into your little babies head and making what should be a lovely relaxing special experiance one that is uncomfortable and ugly. You radiate your emotions and your baby picks up on that. ANd that impacts their feeding time. Making it alot harder for him or her to relax and feed properly.
Can you imagine trying to sit down to have a nice relaxing dinner and someone is just emanating hate and spite and resent towards you and what you are eating. It would not be very relaxing would it. And you wouldnt be able to enjoy your meal. Your poor little baby. I really feel sorry for them.
And the whole wanting to breastfeed to show of your **** is just a dumb statement. How do you breastfeed. Do you take of your top and feed in public? Because I didnt and I havent seen anyone else do it either. Breastfeeding is a lot more reserved than most womens tops these days. I have never actually seen a womans whole breast while she was breastfeeding. Just a babies head and a blanket and maybe a centimetre of skin. Whereas tops are far more revealing. Most barely hold the breast in!!! And naked breasts are pretty much everywhere these days so what does it matter?
Trust me if I want to show off my breasts I dont breastfeed to do it, I wear a low cut top. Its just so much easier. Besides if your breastfeeding everyone averts their gaze so as to give you a bit of privacy. But a low cut top draws all the attention where you want it. *lol*
Sorry you are just a waste of time. Breastfeeding has so many benefits over bottlefeeding its just not funny. And the fact you feel this way about breastfeeding should be telling you something. If you are so uncomfortable breastfeeding than go to formula. Their poo is horrible the spew is horrible, they are more prone to obesity, allergies and so much more. But if you think that is best then whatever. You not me get to walk around in the middle of the night making bottles and washing them. Running out of formula (my milk was on tap 24/7 very handy and it never ran out!!!). Having a harder to settle baby, because breastmilk is so soothing they fall right to sleep. Freaking out that they arent getting enough nutrition. When breastfeeding you ALWAYS know they are getting the exact right amount of nutrition because its made daily just for them!!
So look whatever to you. I just pray that your horrible nasty and backwards attitude does not do any permanent damage to your child.

Breastmilk is best. Formula is a far second. But, it's there for mother's as an option. In the dark ages you would have had to hire a wet nurse to breastfeed your baby for you, or else your child would have died of starvation. Sounds like you should definitely give your baby formula, you arent willing to put in the commitment necessary.

You are a moron, sorry, but think about what you just said. Just because you don't like it now that you started it doesn't mean it's wrong - just means it's not for you. Although your reasoning seems quite selfish and outdated. Breastmilk was created for babies - human milk for human babies. Do you think calves drink goat's milk? Or maybe cats feed dogs? Or how about pigs feeding monkeys? Why would you possibly think formula is more healthy when it is not only from a cow (or soy beans) but processed in a plant somewhere and coms in a bottle. Breastmilk doesn't need to be mixed, no additives, no water... just pure milk created solely for babies. It's nature's perfect food for babies.
For parents who choose formula - so be it - your child will certainly grow up healthy - but there is no denying the medical facts that breastmilk is superior. thats why formula is considered a breast milk substitute.
seek psychological help.. please...especially since you think we do it for the purpose of showing our breasts.
Edited to add again - you most certainly can take medication for colds and headaches - not while pregnant but you can while nursing. You just have to check with doc for other medications. I use advil and tylenol cold & flu as well as pepto and mylanta and my daughter has had no ill effects. Every drug has a letter grade assigned to it and as long as it's grace C or above (www.safefetus.com) then you will most likely not have issues.

you've been misinformed.
Formula is a GREAT option for women who (for whatever reason) are unable to breastfeed. Thank goodness we have formula available today to assure the health and survival of babies who hundreds of years ago would have suffered malnutrition...or possibly worse!
BUT nursing is SO much more convenient
-you don't have to carry a diaper bag, just toss an extra diaper and some wipes in your purse and you are set
- your body's milk production automatically responds to your baby's demands so they are getting the perfect amount of milk at each feeding.
- immuneties from your body naturally pass through the breast milk to the baby, helping their new little immune systems fight off viruses and form antibodies of their own
Speaking as a mother who has breastfed all her children...I NEVER nursed my child just to show some tit. Come on, how immature can you get.

How do you figure it's easier. Hello...you have to wash bottles with formula. Breastfeeding only requires that you be there. It also helps build a closer bond with mother and baby.Besides, I have never once heard of a baby being allergic to breastmilk....can you say the same about all those formulas?

I love the fact that I can nurse my babies! My little girl is so chunky. I love the fact that my body made the milk that mad her so. I also am way to lazy to bottle feed, it's so much easier to pull up my shirt. I can't imagine how much longer I would be up at night if I had to fix bottles! I also had my son's Doctor and ENT tell me to keep nursing him for as long as I could. That breast milk was so great in helping babies' immune systems. Each woman needs to do what they have to do, which is why there is forumla for babies.

You sound rather hypocritical...are you just nursing to show off?? Where in the WORLD did you hear that formula is best? Are you kidding? Thousands of millions of babies are not just fine without breastmilk...why do you think doctors recommend breastfeeding over formula? Formula makes babies get sick, have digestive problems, lacks bonding...you name it. If you want to give YOUR baby artificial milk out of an artificial nipple then do so...but don't criticize women who are smart enough to give their baby what's TRULY BEST for them. Oh, and by the way, I've been nursing my daughter for 8 month and have yet to have to show "a tit" to do so.
