put the eyeliner on then carefully go over the eyelid with a cotton swab to even out the line. if you bought thick eyeliner, that was your first mistake but just even it out with the cotton swab until you get the line you want. but you can put eyeliner on it to make it thinner after the cotton swab thing.

Get an eyeliner sharpener and sharpen the end! The finer the point, the thiner the line.

Go to an art supply store and purchase a paint brush that says "0," "00," or "000." Buy the one that you think will give you the line size you want. But do not buy the cheapest ones. They won't hold a good line when you use them.
You can get lots of good make up brushes there, and again, buy quality.

try the liquid eye liner. it comes with a fine tip. Its all the way you tilt the tip and push down hard or soft for the different effect you want. think of it like a fine paint brush you can press harder and it will push out the bristles for a thicker line or lightly sweep across the eye for a fine line look.
