I saw a special on the history channel, about how this Aztec calendar ends on that very day, and that was a very accurate ancient calendar and all...plus the stock market computer predicted an increase in terrorism leading up to 2012, and many predictions (even part of the Bible, I've heard) say the world will end at that time. I really don't want it to. what do you believe?

If the Aztecs were prescient, they would still be around. Obviously, they weren't real good at predicting the future.

A stock market computer predicted an increase in terrorism? Gosh, who would've thought? Good thing we had a computer doing that - we would have never guessed without it.

The bible does *not* predict *when* the end of the world will come, certainly not 6/6/6 (which passed before the bible existed). The bible *specifically states* that no man will know the hour or the day - not even Jesus, when he was alive, knew.

That being said, we also do not know when the world will "end". Some Christian sects believe that the world will *not* be destroyed, just renewed. Others believe that it will be replaced.

Considering the number of kooks through the ages who have predicted the end of the world - and gathered hundreds or thousands of followers by doing so - and lived to see their predictions proven false, I would not be inclined to believe anyone's prediction of the end of the world. (Well, if NASA said it was certain, I might be concerned.)

The solution is: live each day as if it were your last, because no one knows the time of their death.

No I don't believe the earth is going to end for thousands if not millions of years. They have been predicting the death of the earth since the beginning of time. If you remember there was a world wide panic on the last millinium (2000). They said that the world would end then too, but look we're all still here. The world will end for each of us when we die. But I don't think any of us that are alive right now will see the earth go up in smoke.

There is no point in getting excited about it. Even if it does happen there is nothing we can do about it.

The mayan calender does end on 21/2012 but it symbolizes a new begining (rebirth) not an end. there are suppose to be a series of disasters leading up to this event (which seem to have already started) and many people are suppose to die but only about 8 or 9 % of the worlds population. So don't worry if anything you should be stoked after 2012 the world might be a better place.

Always turn your fear into optimism.

I don't know for sure. But what you should know is that god doesn't want you to know when the end will come. All throughout time people have thought the world will end very soon. Especially in the beginning of 2000 when people thought that all the computers would crash forcing rioting in the steets,Planes crashing down, and a whole lot of other nonsense crap that has not happened to to this day. Personally , i've wondered if doomsday will happen on that day. But remember, god will give you signs but he won't give you an exact date of when doomsday will happen.

well actulally it might not cause look the world is like a toy just follow me here were playing with it right? so the more we play with it means were polluting it and destroying it cause were playing with it to much. so the toy= earth the earth since it dosent like getting poluuted or playing around like that it will some how try to destroy allot of ppl it will show more ppl that we need to stop messing the world up and polluiting it and stop violence the world will just clean its self up by doing that and its also showing a lession dont play rough u get it? so the earth will be cleaned up but a posiblity that it will blow up or someting else happen to it will be in a a billion years cause the sun is a star and evrey day a star blows up right and the explossion is the size of a state or someting atleast imagine in a biliion years the sun= star will explode so the myan callender may show someting but not the real ancwer evrey day we get closer to our destruction and the ppl to blame is us.

Considering the fact that the Aztecs weren't smart enough to work metal, use the wheel, or stop sacrificing 100,000 people at a time, I don't know if would put too much stock in their predictions.

I think I saw the same one you saw, and it creeped me out, but I think that is what they were trying to do. I don't think the world will end, but I think it's funny how the next perfect solar storm is predicted to occur in 2012, but I don't think that has anything to do with the Mayans prediction.
