I am 15, and my friend has recently invited me to her birthday party, which has a tea party theme. I have found a wonderful dress (Salvation Army for 3.99!!). I have a medical condition where I cannot spend too much time in the sun because of the medicine I take. Since this party is outdoors, my friend suggested the wonderful idea of finding a parasol! So now, I need to know how to make my own parasol if I can't buy one somewhere. Also, I am on a limited budget, seeing as my parents are kind enough to pay for this. Also, I cannot use sunscreen because it will NOT work, trust me.

Thank you very much!

Use a regular umbrella and attach some gathered lace around the edge using needle and thread, or try using fabric glue to attach the lace. Try to coordinate the colors of the umbrella and the lace to match your dress.

http://ww.orientaltrading.com has a pretty parasol. The item number: IN-0/502. It costs $3.69 a piece. Look at the site to see if it would work. The design is Plum Blossoms.
