I'd have to say Christian Laettner! Remember the game against Kentucky in the 1992 East Regional Final where the Blue Devils won on a made shot by Laettner from a full court pass by Grant Hill? Laettner played a perfect game, shooting wise and had he missed a shot, the title seeking dookies would have gone down. overtime game 104-103.
His stats : 10/10 FGA/FGM (including 1/1 on 3 pt shot) and 10/10 FTA/FTM.
The shot that will be remembered as long as the game is replayed is Laettner's last one, the one that just beats the overtime buzzer in Philadelphia. Kentucky had just taken a one-point lead on Sean Woods' bank shot with two seconds left. Laettner is immortalized through this game.
A case can be brought out about Laettner's selection in the USA Dream Team 1992 olympic team. But then again, Christian has done more than enough to prove, that as a collegiate player, he is a winner. Some would argue that Shaq deserved the spot...but that will be forever debatable. While Shaq is an NBA champ, Laettner had a better college career...and the selection committee for USA basketball had to choose from the college ranks.
Grant Hill comes in 2nd!

As of now, Grant. Ten years from now, if he stays healthy, Boozer. Elton Brand is probably better than both, but you didn't list him. Laettner sucked, Hurley got hurt, and Reddick is never going to be anything other than an eighth or ninth man.

Grant Hill or Elton Brand, these are the only Duke players to have a real pro game, the jury is still out on Boozer.

Laettner. Carried Duke on his back to two Final Fours. How he did in the NBA has no relevance.

As a Dookie, i liked Redick the most. The guy has the purest jumpshot i have ever seen. Too bad when it came to tournament time, he froze up.
My favorite NBA dookie player is Elton Brand, the guy is awesome.
