6x-2(2-x)=4(2x-3)

5(3+y)=3(y+5)

3(x+1)-2(x-5)=10

I'm doing test corrections and I got these problems wrong.

6x - 2 (2 -x) = 4(2x -3)
6x - 4 + 2x = 8x - 12

8x - 8x = -12 + 4

8x - 8x = - 8

This has no real solution for any value of x.
--------------------------------------

5 (3 + y) = 3 (y + 5)

15 + 5y = 3y + 15

5y = 3y

y = 0
----------------------------

3(x+1)-2(x-5)=10

3x + 3 - 2x + 10 = 10

x + 3 = 0

x = - 3

I'll do one at a time. Be sure to try them again yourself!

Number one: 6x - 2(2-x) = 4(2x - 3) change the - 2 to + -2, etc.

6x + -2(2 + -x) = 4(2x + -3) multiply to remove the parentheses

6x + (-2*2) + (-2*-x) = (4*2x) + (4*-3) [remember a neg*neg=pos]

6x + -4 + 2x = 8x + -12 combine like terms on each side

8x + -4 = 8x + -12 ?? are you sure that is the correct question?
Since you have 8x on each side, when you move the 8x over (subtract 8x from both sides in order to move it to the other side. I usually move the variable to the right side...)

8x + -4 + -8x = 8x + -12 + -8x
0x + -4 = 0x + -12 . . . . . this problem has no value for x - null value because there is no value of x that will make -4 = -12
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Problem 2: 5(3+y) = 3(y+5) multiply through (distributive property)
(5*3) + (5*y) = (3*y) + (3*5)
15 + 5y = 3y + 15 move variables to same side
15 + 5y + -3y = 3y + 15 + -3y simplify
15 + 2y = 15 move 15 from left side to right side
15 + 2y + -15 = 15 + -15 simplify
2y = 0 divide both sides by 2
2y/2 = 0/2
y = 0/2 = 0 Only value of y that makes this true!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Problem 3 3(x+1) - 2(x-5) = 10 change - to + -

3(x+1) + -2(x + -5) = 10 multiply through

(3*x) + (3*1) + (-2*x) + (-2*-5) = 10

3x + 3 + -2x + 10 = 10 simplify

1x + 13 = 10 ------> x + 13 = 10 move 13 to other side

x + 13 + -13 = 10 + -13 simplify

x = -3
~~~~~
to check (highly recommended) take your answer and plug it in to the original problem. Then solve it. If you have questions, you may email me.
first, expand the terms of the equation, then seperate variable from the other factors:
6x - 2(2-x) = 4(2x-3)
6x - 4 + 2x = 8x -12
move all X to the left side of the equation
6x +2x - 8x = -12 + 4
combining the X terms
-0x = -8
NOT POSSIBLE - NO SOLUTION!
5(3+Y)=3(Y+5)
15 + 5Y = 3Y + 15
5Y = 3Y
Y=0
3(X+1)-2(X-5)=10
3X + 3 - 2X + 10 = 10
3X - 2X = -3
X = -3
6x-2(2-x)=4(2x-3)
Remove brackets:
6x - 4 + 2x = 8x - 12
Gather like terms on both sides
6x + 2x - 8x = 4 - 12
indeterminate
5(3+y)=3(y+5)
Remove brackets
15 + 5y = 3y + 15
Gather like terms on both sides
5y - 3y = 15 - 15
2y = 0
y = 0
3(x+1)-2(x-5)=10
Remove brackets
3x + 3 - 2x + 10 = 10
Gather like terms on both sides
3x -2x = 10 - 10 - 3
x = -3
Im not doing your homework. But I will tell you one thing. Take the number and times them to what in the in ( ).
Example on your first question
6x-4-2x=8x-12
Now solve for x
6x-2x is 4x... so you have 4x-4=8x-12
That gave you plenty for all of the questions
Do your homework (if you think you have x just plug it back in to check) If the 2 sides dont match you messed up. You wont learn if I do them all for you.
************ update **************
Retype the first question anybody that can get an answer is wrong. Im sure they are not giving you questions where you cant solve for X. I think you missed a minus sign or something.
SORRY LOLA I read one of your answers wrong. LOLA is right. But she got a thumbs down anyway for doing your math for you.
6x-2(2-x)=4(2x-3)
6x-4+2x=8x-12
6x+2x-4=8x-12
8x-4=8x-12
8x-8x=-12+4
0=-8
so 6x-2(2-x) is not equal to 4(2x-3)
5(3+y)=3(y+5)
15+5y=3y+15
5y-3y=15-15
2y=0
2y/2=0/2
y=0
3(x+1)-2(x-5)=10
3x+3-2x+10=10
3x-2x+10+3=10
x+13=10
x=10-13
x=-3
