this guy i was friends with for a while, well we hadnt talked in months because he's always busy with his other friends and can't invite me along. well today for the first time in months i hear from him. he has an old friend coming to a town a couple hours away and he wanted me to go with him to that town cause he didn't want to go alone. i have been working all week and need some time to catch up on some things at home so i said no, plus i didn't really feel comfortable going. i know he only wanted me to go because his other friends were working. he's now mad at me and got an attitude with me. we're almost college grads anyway and this is like high school drama. am i right to not feel bad about this situatuation? thanks for all your help

Don't feel bad at all. sounds to me like he has better things to do than to hang with you,, that is until all his other buddies are all to busy, then yeah... let's phone ______(insert name here), I know she's a sucker to spend time with me, besides,,,if we're alone.. no one has to know but me.. right....
I wouldn't want to be seen by someone I know, hanging with _______(insert name here)
Does the word USED mean anything to you....
I wouldn't have even have answered his call... he sounds very selfish and immature.......
so Yeah you did the right thing.... You have a life too, you just can't give everything up just to be with this dork, because he has no one else better to hang with,,,,good call, and stick to your guns.....

you shouldn't feel bad about the whole thing, if you haven't talked to him in months then he could be just using you, like you are thinking, to have someone go with him. He, on the other hand, could be taking this oppertunity to catch up with you. If you know that his other friends are working or can't go with him, and if you know that he has asked other people, you should have no reason to feel bad becasue he probaly is using you, but if you don't knwo that i would ask him if you are still talking and see if he wanted you to go and see why he wanted you to go. He might just say to catch up, but hopefully you know him well enough to tell if he is lying, if not then he will probably pause for a while then answer or he will stammer. He sounds immature enough to still be that bad at lying. If he comes right out with it, it either means he is a really good liar or he really means it, in that case i would go with him but, if you can, bring your work, so he does know you have things to do. He should also have no reason to get mad like that, you are what like 24, grow up!

Funny, I just answered a question "Do you treat others better than yourself." My answer is also the answer to you as well. When I developed my own self worth I began to treat myself at least as good as I treated others. No you should not only not feel bad but you need to feel GOOD about refusing because you are taking care of YOU!! That is important and women are the worst about this. So he is afraid to go on his own, his other friends did not want to go, out of desperation he out of the blue calls you, you say no and he is mad at you? What a loser no do not feel guilty you did not let yourself be used, proud of ya girl!!!

Hmmm. So, what is it that you've lost if he doesn't speak to you again? A "friend" with whom you never speak, who doesn't contact you, and who wants you to do something with him only when no one else is available? And you are sad about this because? Because of what you might have had but didn't?
