Did anyone read the story in The Sun newspaper or other paper.Of the little Girl Casey aged 2 who was raped and strangled by her own uncle. while her parents where down stairs arguing. He strangled her with a mobile phone wire. He got Life and a minimum of 35 years. I am near crying now as I write this. How can anybody be soooo sick and cruel. Do you think his sentence was enough? I think crimes like this deserve the death penalty. Anyone agree?

*CoolioMadDog* this only happened a few ago. he was 21 and the parents 20 i think. He was always able to settle the child to sleep. Can you imagine what he might have been doing up til then or possibly grooming her. He dad actually came into the room while he was sitting on the floor beside the bed and the uncle said ' away down she is sleeping'. The poor wee mite most has already been dead. He could never have hoped to get away with such a crime. It wasn't til he was arrested that they found bad pics on his computer. apparrently no-one suspected he was like that. I hope he get bad bad treated in prison or takes voluntary castration.

No, I had not heard of this story. Unfortunately I have heard of many other similar ones though. These kind of crimes seem to becoming an epedemic lately. It really breaks my heart as well. It is so horribly sad that our chidren are not being kept safe from these predators. It makes me sick especially when it is done by a family member the child has learned they can be safe with. I have the same questions, how can they do something like that to a defenseless child. No, he should have gotten life, with no chance of parole,at the very least. But yes, I agree, death penalty for sure. She was just a baby at two, how horrible. COULDN'T the PARENTS HEAR THE TERRIFYING SCREAMS?

i was sickened by this story, there is absolutely no excuse for his actions - he has been labelled an 'untreatable psychopath' which ensures he won't be released but still breathing.

i read, just after he was sentenced he was in court last year on a charge of assault on a female, either 12 or 15, on teletext - tried to find the link but had no luck.

i think as he will never be released he should be given the death penalty, as if that was a relative of mine - i would not want the burden of knowing he still exists

ysanne - i thought he was the mothers brother but he is the brother of the dad

I don't agree with the death penalty but I don't think this guy should or will ever be freed. And rightly so. It was a truly sickening crime.

Also prisons have their own rules and even if this guy is kept in solitary confinement, someone will get to him. For lifers it's a badge of honour to beat the cr*p out of someone like him. He will suffer in prison.

Death is to good for some people. I say bring back the torture chambers first! Yes it affected me i couldn't get the sick bastard out of my head for the rest of the day.
I think people having a dig at the parents is a bit over the top by some people. Why wouldn't you trust you brother with you kids.

If this animal is put in the general population in prison (which he hopefully will be) he won't last long. Even the convicts had their standards in there. Child molesters are the bottom of the barrel even in their eyes. The other convicts will make sure he gets what he deserves. And then when they are finished with him, Satan (in my opinion) has a special place in Hell for those like him.

I agree it was a vile evil act and he should be kept in solitary confinement for the rest of his life.
But I am unsure about the death penalty.
I think all lifers should be given the option of voluntary euthanasia or stay in prison until they die.

Saw the story. Sickened to the core. Death penalty doesn't even come close. They do get papers in prison so its going to be a long uncomfortable sentence. May he rot in hell

I read this sickening story and I agree that the death penalty should be applied in this case to the perverted sicko that killed this baby. I also believe that the parents should be held somewhat accountable for what happened to their child. They let this (known) paedophile in their home and upstairs where their daughter was. He is the mothers brother, and brother or not, I would never have allowed him anywhere near my child.

I say lock them in a room with the parents for half an hour.

Then send them down for life, and I mean LIFE - not a poxy few years then out on good behaviour.
