Some people are like that, and some are very generous. My folks raised me to be generous.

Don't cry when those cheap people die. Some people need money to have a roof over their heads. They may seem to have money, but they don't. Rich people who spend money aren't rich for long. Money is cheap, love is what we really want any way. Rich people have the same problems, but their money is in investments. I have a feeling that you will have a lot of money and stuff, but it won't make you happy. The best way to fill a need is to not have it at all. Materialists always find out sooner or later.

Usually people who are cheap also have the trait of selfish and jealous. The 3 always seem to go together. Personally, I love spending money on others when I can...it's so rewarding to see another person feel joy because of something you did!

I do not think most people are cheap. I think people give to the causes they feel passionate about. Also your definition of giving may be too narrow. Many volunteers give their time and expertise, some people donate clothing and belongings no longer in use, some lend a helping hand or are just available if you need a friend to talk to.

If your idea of generosity is giving endless money to anyone who asks for it, then you are missing the broader picture and you are refusing to see all the generous deeds people do for each other daily.

I know in Michigan times are hard, people are losing jobs left and right. Companies are leaving because of heavy taxes, and it is irresponsible not to evaluate the worth of money. However I still don't see anything wrong with spending money on others..it will come back to you (maybe not from that individual) but it will come back. Plus money is made to be spent, and your loved ones should be shown they're appreciated if you can afford to do so. Everyone has different financial circumstances.

Good morning to you.

In our society, we have two types of people; when it comes to finances: spenders and savers. Now in one of your answers by the wonderful FEARLESS: she stated that their were 3,000,000.00 spent on charities this year....that maybe true, but lets think of the percentage of the world's population actually gave that much...not many. You have your "spenders" those who feel that since the monies are there, they can spend it. Alot of spenders are fully aware of their income, and either KNOW or HOPE they have monies to replace their spendings. "Savers" are what many people might call cheap, which in case, is sometimes not true. Alot of people in this category are thinking long-term of their expenses.....NOT WHAT IS ON IMPULSE. I would call myself a spender who saves, I love to shop, especially designer clothes...yet my income, I can spend and take care of myself at the same time. But in your question you stated how many don't spend on others. Well, that may be true....but sometimes we have to understand are they one of these categories (SPENDER, SAVER OR BOTH)....and if saver....what long-term situations are they going through...??? Could it be a bill past due? School expenses?? Home Problems??? OR THE BIG QUESTION:....ARE THEY JUST PLAIN SELFISH??? IT COULD BE THAT ONE TOO. Alot of us need to start thinking of others before ourselves. Like Einstein said" I DON'T BELIEVE GOD PLAYED DICE WITH THE WORLD." Think about it.

Well have a FAB weekend guys!!

Greedy and self-centered is the way to be today.Their are many people in this country that can't survive very well on jobs that pay around minimum wage and no benefits. Most haves today are only out to get more and hate those that are poor (may be their employees).

I think it's because some people want to preemptively make sure that no one is taking advantage of them, or taking them for granted. I think it's a matter of trusting less than more generous people in humanity, but it also involves a rather selfish love of money.

There's nothing wrong with somebody wanting to spend their money on themself. Nobody else has any right to a person's money other than that person. He may spend it on anything that he wishes (as long as it doesn't directly harm others; which would obviously only refer to fraud when it comes to spending money) and he has every right to spend it on himself instead of others if that is what he wishes. To claim that you know better how to spend somebody else's money than they do is to attempt to relegate that person to a slave of yours.

,I just get the vibes that it is your expectation that men on dates should treat you to the best. I think a person needs to earn that,to be shared with a special person in their lives, If a person base their feelings on material things ( many men will be turned off by that trait) I may be wrong if I am, I am sorry for the generalization.
