Why don't they make Root Beer flavored ice cream? Wouldn't it be better than root beer floats?

They do! A&W came out with their own root beer float ice cream that's really good! There are two or three other brands that are selling their own versions of root beer float ice cream that are also very good. Go to a grocery store that has a large ice cream section and I'll bet you find some! Have a great weekend! Annie

The other answerers pointed out they do make it. I love root beer shakes at Hire's myself. If you use root beer ice cream to make a root beer float, is it a root beer root beer float ?

They make root beer ice cream, even "root beer float" ice cream.....however, I do not believe you can compare the awesome power of a root beer float to a hardened attempt to reproduce it.

NO, the fun part is seeing the ice cream get taken over by the root beer and how it makes that happy separation!!!

i dont think it would be better if they made root beer flavored ice cream because it would be different. you know how when the pop mixes with the ice cream the ice cream gets like almost hard. or when it fizzles up and it almost looks like you have a mustache. they are fun to eat.
