Not really. Some scientists invent things they use in their research, and get a patent, but most inventors don't actually do science - no original research, and they don't publish.

The Answer to this question may vary depending on the situation. For example if the inventor invent as extendible back scratcher , Therefore i would not consider them scientist. The Definition of a Scientist is A person who has studied science, especially one who is active in a particular field of investigation.

Some scientists may be inventors.
But not all inventors are scientists.
We could argue that Edison was an Inventor.
He certainly had no scientific training.
