Britain’s new prime minister is eschewing talk of “a war on terror”. The attempted bombings in London and Glasgow have also seen Gordon Brown’s government avoid references to “Islamist terrorists”. Instead, ministers have denounced the attacks as acts of criminality. The talk is of a need to win hearts and minds in the wider Muslim community.

You are right (as usual). They want us dead. We want to live. That leaves absolutely nothing to talk about.

No reasoning? Osama Bin Ladin said "Pull the American Troops out of Saudi Arabia and we'll not attack you". Well, Bush pulled the troops out of Saudi Arabia and guess what? We haven't been attacked. Bush let the Saudi Royals fly out of the U.S. after the Saudi terrorists led by a member of the Saudi Royals attack the world trade center, even after the FBI wanted to question them. Reagan traded arms for hostages over the bodies of 230 marines. The republicans are more than willing to deal with terrorists.

I visited the BBC News website to get the latest today. You'll have to search hard for any reference to the failed attacks. If you'll notice, a lot of UK posters here have been downplaying it as well. The UK is accustomed to having terrorist attacks. It's become their way of life.
When I lived there, I was supposed to meet friends in London. There was a bombing of a night club and the friend casually called me to tell me we would have to change locations since the Eros statue where we were to meet was inaccessible because of the bombing. It's never a surprise to them. (This bombing was not radical Islam.)
The IRA gets representation now in Parliament. The UK advised it's government leaders not to use the phrase 'war on terror' while Blair was still in office. Some UK schools have stopped teaching the Holocaust so it won't offend Muslims. Some UK communitites have Sharia Law set up.
Appeasement never works. I don't ever want terrorist attacks to be a way of life for Americans.

people don't want more terrorists to be breed. upseting a group of citizens and making an environment for racism will lead some people to listen to extremest views.
they are trying to ensure they don't end up like France, who is having racial riots - not because of islam or christianity, but because of discrimination against citizens who look arab/persian/ are assumed to be muslim
terrortist attacks are criminal acts.
this isn't about the terrorists, its about the law-abiding citizens

RLP,
When will you come to your senses and realize that your tunnel visioned views of the world have no real validation. You’ve done nothing but ask loaded question after loaded question in an purely extremist attempt to some how validate some bizarre ideology that doesn’t even fit in well with those I would consider semi-insane.
You never engage anyone who questions your comments, you’ve repeatedly posted lies, you’ve miss represented Christians ( like myself) with oppressive religious statements, You have zero compunction at allowing yourself to post half truths and twisted facts.
What motivates you I wonder...surely it has nothing to do with promoting even a conservative agenda. The ones I know who’ve e-mailed me have said quite plainly that you madam are a complete embarrassment, with no positive attributes worthy of being a contributing member of the conservative community.

smart man!! at least he knows that without winning the hearts and minds of the MAJORITY (good Muslims) he won't be able to fight the extremist minority.
i'd say it's a smart move and will benefit ALL brits (Muslims and non Muslims)

Your not going to change the extremist!
You may change the brother, sister, children of the extremeist if you don't demonize every Muslim.
Tough talk make you feel good.
Try going over to your neighbors and yelling at him because someone he knows did something wrong, you just gain enemies

Since the fastest growing religion is Islam, I think they better put their thinking caps on and figure out a way to eliminate the inflammatory talk.

nope, the only reason why the terrorists are going after them is that they are siding with America. End the swaggering bravado and theyll be left alone.
