Pueblo is really nice. There aren't traffic jams like there are in Colorado Springs and Denver. The State Fair is here. The Arkansas River runs through town. There is great rock climbing nearby and the golfing is wonderful. You can get a nice home for about 1/2 what it would cost in Colorado Springs. I live in Pueblo West--sometimes I go running for an hour and don't have a car pass me, but if they do they wave.

Different people look for different things in a home. I'm originally from the Pueblo area and would move back in a minute if I didn't have such a good job in Denver. The people are so much more friendly that I'm amazed every time I'm down there because I forget. You'll see people who obviously don't know each other stop and talk in the grocery stores, if you're stopped along the road they're more apt to stop and see if you need help. It's a whole different world.
It's a lot hotter in the summer than in the Denver area and the comment above about the cold - well, I'm not sure where that came from unless they're from Phoenix or somewhere like that. Pueblo isn't a very pretty town when you're just driving through but there are some really nice neighborhoods near City Park and then you're close to the reservoir too.
There are terrific places in the mountains within an hour of Pueblo. Lake Isabel is a pretty nice place to camp and fish if you're not looking for a wilderness experience, and the sledding there in the winter is awesome. If you are looking for a wilderness experience, you can take the 12 mile hike to the top of Greenhorn Mountain (the locals call it Baldy) near Rye - my home town, YEAH!!
The cost of living is less down there and the job opportunities are fewer unless you work in the service type jobs. Like i said, I'd move back if I could and I will one of these days.

I grew up in Colorado Springs, and to be honest, Pueblo always had that "ghetto" vibe. Colorado Springs is a great city, very beautiful with views of Pikes Peak. Castle Rock is also a nice town between Denver and Colorado Springs.

pueblo yes there is jobs but you need to be a hard worker . the pay is as go as the work . if you have a degree in some kind of work with animal it's really good because that's a lot of what's up there .living expenses are average. well depends on if in the winter you like very cold weather. winter is the bad one.

I would suggest doing what I am doing at this time b/c I am desperately hoping to move to Colorado in 2 years roughly. I am thinking of moving to Lakewood or Englewood, CO. I'm taking a trip there next week & in the fall of 2008. That way I can see what the weather & people are like & what there is to do, etc. Do ALL the research you can. Good luck!

Pueblo sucks. Sorry if any of you are from there. There are no trees and nothing really to do. Who do you think started Arbor day and why. I hope you like dust to because you'll be eating a lot of it.
Sorry sorry.... Actually there are a few oportunities down there for a good paying job.
If you really want to live there, check out this site, there are sometimes some really awsome jobs listed here.

Uh...it's cheaper in Pueblo no doubt...But really I'd move closer to Denver. Castle Rock is up and coming and it's a nice area.

Old steel town, not very attractive. You can do a lot better in Colorado. It is probably cheap to live but low pay too.
