I've always felt uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it's because i'm a quiet person, but I hate places where there are a lot of people. I usually get really angry.

Is anyone else like that, or is it just another part of my marvelous ability to be abnormal.

Yes, I have had panic attacks when in the middle of crowds before and almost started shoving people out of the way on several occasions. As a result, it is a very rare occasion that I'll attend a sporting event or go anywhere else where I can expect a crowd.

More than anything else, it's the feeling of being completely surrounded by a mass of humanity with no escape route.

Small groups I can work in, but when the group gets over about 6, I tend to hide in the corners... don't want to be in the middle. I don't get angry, just tense.

The only time I really like crowded places is occassionally at movie theatres. When I'm in a packed cinema, especially when there's comedy involved in the flick, I can feed off the energy... love it. But there, everyone has their assigned space and it's in the dark where you can't see the mass of humanity all around.

Peace

I HATE crowded places! It gets me all nervous and sometimes angry. Mostly, I have this intense need to get out of the situation as fast as possible. As long as people aren't in my way, I can bear it, but mostly, I avoid places with too many people unless necessary. You are not all that unusual in your feelings, a lot of people feel the same way. Sometimes ya just gotta grin and bear it!

Absolutely. I have only had a few periods of time in life when this interfered with my daily activities. When this feeling constrains you from doing what you would like or need to do, it can be called agoraphobia. Otherwise, it might just be a dislike of certain people or events i.e. loud voices, waiting in lines, knowing no one, not being able to do what you want. If you are like me, you like quiet, happy times with people you know or by yourself dong a pleasurable activity.

I think I am too much in tuned into my own thoughts... that I don't even get a chance to take a glimpse at peoples body emotions & expressions. I will only notice those emotions & body language when I am focused on the person whom I am talking to.

I'm with you. My personal space is important to me and in crowded places like the mall or a concert I feel very closed in.
